I got alot of respect for St Pierre, but it's just not a 35 lb weight difference. He's giving up 4 inches to chuck and, if chuck is fighting at his natural weight, he's probably losing closer to 40 or 45 lbs.

Ok according to the poll 2 people voted for Vera i want to hear your reasoning for this choice i believe hes one of the worst fighters on offer, the way i see Vera is like Forrest they both show great potential but are not ready for the big boys (Arlovski, Chuck, Sylvia, Franklin).

Oh and ironman good call on Chuck & St Pierre i never though to look up height or reach.

I chose orther because although he just loss his first fight in the Octagon I would go with Royce Gracie. He won the first two and has experience fighting other weight classes to where the other guys don't but if I had to go with a guy on the list I would go with Arlovski.

There's only one part of this that I disagree with. I don't think that Vera is the worst fighter out there, or even one of the worst. I save that spot for Chris Leben.

The reasoning behind St Pierre and Chuck is simple, Chuck outweighs St Pierre by 34 lbs, and those are pounds that Chuck uses to demolish anyone that wants his belt.

I definitely think that if there was an open weight, the final four would probably be Chuck, Arlovski, Sylvia and Monson. (I think if Snowman fights at his natural weight he is a dangerous fighter for smaller guys, though he would struggle against the better heavyweights)

This makes me wonder if you watched Liddell/Ortiz 1. Tito proved that he's not half the standup fighter that chuck is. Tito landed almost no good bodyshots in the first round and as soon as he walked out in the second Chuck iced him.

Tito's a good fighter with good ground skills, but he has no chance if he strikes with Chuck and he can't take him down, so he doesn't have a shot in hell. Tito can't compete with most lightheavyweights in the UFC, so don't start saying that he could fight the champ.

You misunderstand me i meant Vera was one of the worst on the choices given by the poll not UFC in general, although i dont rally like Vera i have to admit he has talent but hes not yet good enough to be compared with Chuck, Arlovski, Franklin & Sylvia.

While I think Gracie would do very well unlike Gracies first time around more fighters take grappling very seriously now mainly because of Royces success in tghe early UFC against bigger opponents. Part of it would depend on the rule set they use if they stick with the current round system of 2 5 minute rounds or what ever gracie is not going to do very well if it is open length fights that is more his style cause his fighting style favors the wait and frustrate your opponent style as the agressive and force your oppoent to mess up. Gracie is like a trap spider will wait all day for the prey to get to close and when that mistake is made he strikes short rounds do not work for him. so he needs to learn to adapt most of the current fighters are used to this system and feel comfortable and know how to work it.

I think Rich is too small to compete with the lightheavies and the heavies. He doesn't seem to have the muscle to really hold an opponent as strong as a guy like Monson, Chuck or Andrei and he doesn't have the reach to compete with sylvia.

I put Vera on there just as an option for people who have only watched the last 3 or 4 UFCs. Those of us who have watched since the beginning know that he has no chance. I can only defend this decision by pointing to the votes for Vera.

I don't like him either.

If I don't remember correctly a lot of Gracie's early fights were under a minute long with him winning them.
