If I don't remember correctly a lot of Gracie's early fights were under a minute long with him winning them.

WEll yea everyone has quick fights like that Royce included but for him I noticed it is the quick win since that is when most mistakes are made in a fight in the opening moments while the fighters are still feeling each other out. After the moments in the begining the fight slows down and then its a waiting game and I have seen few do that as well as Royce.

Yeah, you're right. But that's mostly because he's on the ground where his opponents had no idea what to do. If his opponents had any ground skills he would have had to change his approach.

Exactly where Gracie still has skill that far exceed most of todays fighters the gap is closing quickly which once the fight is on the ground gracie will have to wait and wait for the frustration to kick in on the younger less expereinced at the ground gamer guys for gracie to make a move, but for those guys who have experience on the ground comparable to gracie it might be a very long and boing fight to at least watch for the average un understand of the ground game kinda fan

UFC101 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
The days of Gracie dominating the UFC have long since past, Gracie is ann expert in Gracie Jujitsu AND THATS ALL HE CAN DO in todays UFC you have to be MMA fighter to survive even the most inexperienced fighters in the UFC one fighting syle just doesn't cut anymore your too easy to predict making you an easy oppenant to fight.

So Gracie lost to Matt Hughes but in reality he would have been beaten just as easily to lesser fighters such as Diego or Leben Gracie hasn't evolved with the sport and therfore has been left behind

He didn't lose coz of fighting with rounds and having a time limit he lost coz he was outmatched ill say it again you can't compete in the UFC if your not an MMA fighter remember MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts Gracie only uses one style so hes not Mixed hes not an MMA fighter thats why he lost.

You forget that we still have one dimensional fighters in the UFC. There are some in line for titles right now, like BJ Penn (he's not first in line, but he's up there). BJ Penn is a typical submission fighter, he just trains at a level that no one else does.

Another example of one dimensional fighters are Sylvia and Liddell. Once they are out of their element then they are screwed (Sylvia/Arlovski 1 and Liddell/Couture 1 are examples). It's the same thing as Royce on the ground except that their opponents have an idea of what's going on, and still they get dominated.

ok ironman i disagree with you first of all BJ PENN has solid allaround skills to say all he can do is submistion is silly did you not see him mess uf st piarres face in the stand up bj has good solid allaround skills come on do you think he would have dominated matt huges if all he could do is submitt do you really belive that i guy can go to brazil and win the brazilian ju-jit-su championship if all he could do was submit DONT BE SILLY

as for chuck liddel he game is so solid he is a mma fighter cos in oder to have such great takedown defence you need wrestin skills and whenever the guy is takin down he has the skills nessesery to get up agein he is impossable to takedown because of the mma skills he has you make it sound like all chuck can do is punch if that was the case tito and randy would have killed him his game is very solid and he does have mma skills if he didnt he would not be were he is YOU CANNOT COMPARE GRACIE TO CHUCK, BJ, AND SYVIA ARE YOU MAD!!!

ufc 101 hit the nail on the head gracie blided by his pride of gracie ju-jit su has never deveolopt eny new skills and has let the sport pass him by AND NOW HE IS LOST

iceman, you are without a doubt the biggest jackass to ever post in this forum! You make Xphilter look like a rocket scientist.

I can't even count on one hand how many times I have called you out on your stupid ass posts and not once have you ever responded. Yet you act like Ironman should respond to your idiotic s**t.

I am not even going to waste my time going back and pulling up the moronic s**t that has spilled out of your brain on to your keyboard. I feel too sorry for you to make an ass out of you anymore.

Have great day
