UFC Airs Counter Programming

Well, this is sure a sign they want Pro Elite to fail. Spike TV will air an Ultimate Iceman special on May 31, followed by a special version of UFC unleashed highlighting Liddell v. Silva. It's a 2 hour block of programming meant to attract another few hundred thousand viewers away from CBS.

This is just the first sign of what could be the benefits for MMA fans if Elite XC is successful.http://www.bloodyelbow.com/story/2008/5/7/135714/9601
Dana is treating EliteXC as a threat! Do you think a two hour special on the Iceman will be enough to deter people away from the EliteXC live show?

I'll DVR Chuck Liddell. I always like to watch his fights. Old and new.

But I am definatly watching EliteXC live.

I'm growing accustomed to seeing Brett Rodgers knocking fighters out.

Joey and Phil Baroni will be an entertaining slug fest.
Gina throwing down, and Robbie Lawler defending.

Man I'm looking forward to this card.

....and yet Vince McMahon and his company are the only real game in town. So his tactics worked (he pulled similiar stunks againts the NWA and WCW).

This is a smart move by Dana and the UFC. Why let your compitition get off the ground and take a piece of your pie?

Elite all the way! I'll be watching to see if Kimbo can win again, shut up all the "haters" and PROVE TO THE WORLD that his is totally top 10 and ready for a UFC title shot.

Just kidding. I'll DVR them both and watch them when I have nothing else to watch at 3am feeding the baby a bottle.
