But Thiago Silva hasn't beaten anyone of notice, while Sokky has beaten Arona and Lil Nog (impressive wins), and recently Nakamura, and has only lost to Machida who is still undefeated, so I think it's correct to rank Sokky above Thiago. Maybe they should fight next, that match would make sense I think.
i guess your right but i still think sokky is overrated
I agree, I'm not sold on Soky just yet, but in time I'll see if he's a well rounded fighter with heart. But he seems to have a promising future in MMA as long as he keeps learning, and training with Team Quest can only be beneficial.

I personally think that the LW rankings need to look like this.
1. Aoki
2. JZ
3. Gomi
4. Penn

yeah.... im not sure about Aoki/Penn and ho should be nr 1 bout gomi is definatly not before penn. and i dont think JZ is top 5 ...sorry i dont
Yeah, I agree. Aoki and Penn is a toss up to me. I think Penn would win between the two because his standup is better and he has great tdd. But I also believe even Penn would have problems with Aoki's JJ.
JZ is good, but still has a lot of progressing to do. He has a ton of talent though. I think he is top 5 but not convincingly. There is a pretty big drop off from the 2 spot to the third and after that you really have a bunch of guys that are very close.
My rankings are a combination of achievements and recent activities.
Aoki - Aoki is the clear choice for being the #1 LW in the world. He's had nothing but success recently and after beating JZ, I think he deserves to be #1. Aoki is very consistent as well so him being #1 is an obvious choice.
JZ - I would've probably agreed with JZ being #1 before his loss to Aoki but since he's lost to Aoki, I think with his outstanding performance before the losses take him to #2.
Gomi - This is where people disagree with me because people think Penn deserves to be ranked higher than Gomi. Gomi may have lost to Penn before but that was a long time ago and since then, he's been on an absolute tear. He's won the Pride LW GP and while he does have losses to Diaz and Aurelio, he has avenged the Aurelio loss and he had a solid performance against Ludwig.
Penn - This guy is talented, no doubt about it. He does have the potential to become the #1 fighter in the world, however let's face it, this guy's recent wins were over Pulver, Stevenson and Sherk, with Sherk being his only impressive win.

i just have a feeling that a 4 man tournament with JZ, BJ, Aoki and Gomi would end up with Penn on top
Bash away, but Machida at #2 after only defeating Tito is pure crap. Their rankings must be completely about only the most recent wins. Nothing against Machida, I have my opinion of his fights but that is neither here nor there, as many people have said, he has not defeated enough people of a high enough calibre to warrant a #2 spot on the rankings.
thiago silva !!?? i dunno i just think hes ( sokky ) getting a little well to much hype for his two KOs. Rankings should be about current form not past glory
the only way they can make rankings is by going by past victories, only current victories are the ones that dictate the way the rankings change. unless they whipe the slate clean and just start over from 2007, then i can see what your talking about.
