Agreed! The minute he stepped in the octagon with Leban he became a UFC fighter! Pride has nothing to do with him now!

right, and before this fight everyone was saying that silva was 'too new to the UFC', and that he should 'earn his way up to the top'. seems as though all he needed was the fight with leben to reach the top so he could effortlessly smash right through it, and now everybody's more than eager to embrace him. silva's fought more fights in pride and already someone in this thread echoed what i had to say.

Does anyone know when Rich planned o show up?
Let's not overreact, to this win. Just because Franklin wasn't smart enough to prepare himself for the clinch doesn't make Silva unstoppable.
If I remember correctly it was Franklin that was going to be holding the belt for a long, long time earlier this month even. I think Swick's style matches up well for against Silva. His overall ability, leaves a bit to be determined though.
It was weird, I am huge Franlin fan and for the last couple months I knew this would be his toughest fight in the UFC. I thought he would win until I saw both guys enter the arena. Franklin didn't look ready. Something was off. We'll see if he is a true champion and can come back and get his belt back.
Congrats to Silva. Wonderful fighter but not unstoppable.

I was watching the PPV at BW3s here in Ohio just north of Cincinnati. Rich is a great fighter, not my favorite but always supported the hometown boy. Haha you shoulda heard the dead silence in that place when Anderson kneed his face the first time. Rich's nose looks horrible I cant believe he could even stand and talk coherently...broken nose like that will **** you up, cant help but fall after breaking your nose sometimes. Awesome fight and the only one that didnt go to a decision besides the prelims. Who the hell can beat Silva in the MW division? Theyre definately gonna need to bring more PRIDE fighters over or find some awesome talent fast. No one will be able to last 1 round with Silva if Rich couldnt.

It was truly shocking to see a champ get f****d that bad in such short order. The knees to the body broke ribs, no doubt, the Muay Thai clinch from Silva was devastating, he was thowing Franklin around like a rag doll, and then that knee to the face that broke Franklin's nose....WOW! Franklin looked like he was OUT ON HIS FEET as he staggered sideways just before he went down.
Before the knees to the face, Franklin had taken the knees to the body - did anyone else see when Franklin was thrown against the cage, he looked over to the ref, i thought he was about to verbally tap - it was unbelievable.
Franklin didn;t look right, he hasn't looked right for a while, does anyone know why?
He didn't look confident at all - did he KNOW he was going to get mashed or is there something going on as a result of the Louiseau injuries?

I think Marquardt would be smarter than Franklin about the fight and systematically eliminate Silva's strengths. Marquardt will get what he deserves some time next spring, a title shot. But if Silva keeps winning without getting punched then he might get a shot before that, because there is no need for recovery time.

yeah I am depressed with what happened to rich but i have faith that he will be back and do just as much damage as before. when he steped into the octagon he dint seem right and the look on his wife's face confimed it. I hope that he didnt take to much damage to the ribs but his nose is messed up for sure.
