From the looks of Franklin's nose after the Silva fight it appears that Rich pissed God off.

God is only with us when we win. Before the fight began you can see Rich and Anderson both say a prayer to God. This stirred up conflict. Knowing he couldn't be in the corner of both, God was forced to pick a side; he chose Silva.

Thank you, God.

i love how on one hand, people can say, well fighter A or B trained harder so that contributed to their win... but on the other, say God "favored" them or however you want to quantify such an ignorant statement. like, you can't have it both ways... either the fight came down to the fighter's, solely, or God chose the winner and loser. in that case, there is no free will... even if God has the "option" of influencing outcomes, then there is no true concept of free will. just like with the electoral college, your vote is trully worthless.

if you have God, then freewill doesn't exist, and then all that training makes no sense because God would pick a winner anyway.

"oh, God chose the guy who "wanted/fought for/trained for" it harder???" Bullsheeeeet! that's just an ignorant ringaround that religious people don't even realize their saying.

fact is... either it's all you, or all God... can't have both! sorry, i know its hard for a lot of faithful to understand, but that really is all it ammounts to! those of us who don't need god to do our thinking for us, get that perfectly clear!

whiskey, racism, money, grease, twinkie's, guns.....yep lol thats about it

Really, when it comes down to it, who cares where fighters get their "strength" from? It's obvious that most of it comes from their training, diet, etc...but if you ever step into an MMA fight, you'll find out that you always need that extra little push.

I have two things I always keep in mind in all aspects of life. Those being Self-Control and Energy. I used to have some problems with drugs, although not as major as some cases, but it was getting to the point that it was taking its toll on my llife, and it was time to stop. Keeping Self-Control and Energy in mind has always helped me pull through things, whether it's a difficult situation in life, or in a fight.

Give it a rest.

PT...no offense here, but alot of your post say the same thing....we know that you do not believe in God, we know your stance, we know that you are not looking with and open mind and trying to have your mind changed...we know all the thoguhts you have expressed about God etc....just give it a rest already...Why does it bother you so much that others choose to rely on God? Let them do what they want....

Yes please, enough with the God and religion bashing. I though this was an MMA forum not Commie Central.

If a person says at the end of their fight that they thank God for the win. They are not saying he gave them the win, they are saying (or atleast this is what they should mean) allowing them to come out their and fight, to have the abilities to do that profession.God did not just give them the win, they had to earn it, but through God all things are possible Philipians 4:13. So God didnt just decide he was not gona be on Rich's side. Its just life, being a christian dosnt guarnty a win. Its just putting you faith in God and knowing that even though the outcome was not what Franklin wanted he must still put his faith in God and things will work out.
