Yeah that pissed me off too. I think a large part of the Vegas crowd is just ignorant about MMA and have a low attention span. When they boo action on the ground, it's obvious they have no idea about the techninques going on and what the fighters are trying to do.
I'm not sure what the UFC can do about this. Maybe try putting in more educational bits about ground moves so the mainstream public can realize it's not just guys hugging each other.

Yeah, he didn't get the applause that he deserved. I imagine most of the fans were pissed about the short main event and the complete dominance, but what the hell are you to do when you're fighting one of the most dangerous fighters in the world? There's a lot of people sitting in those damn arenas that shouldn't be, as Joe Rogan put it there's a lot of meatheads in the audience sucking back Budwisers instead of focusing on the technicality of the fight.

most of the people there buyt cikets cause dana called them and asked them to show up.....there are few celebrities that go to UFC and know what they are talking about, i can bank on the fact that paris hilton knows jack shit about UFc...she just wants to **** up the sport a lil more.....the crowd booing isnt a bad thing though, cause it kinda tells the guys in the ring they arent killing eachother....but still, its disrespectful to the fighters, and it should only happen to the lower guys on the card lol

Booing at UFC
I hear ya on this topic... this is what I posted on My Myspace blog on July 10th. I was kinda mad.
I have something to say to the fans watching live at the Mandalay Bay who boo'd our GREAT fighters.
SHAME ON YOU!
What right do you have to boo at these amazing athletes... just because they may not look to you like they are doing anything - once they step into that cage they are on and in the zone and whether they are circling or clenching they deserve your respect - 100% These boys work very hard and are amazing at what they do and how they do it and they deserve the utmost respect from the fans.
Let me see you get your ass in the cage with these guy - then we'll see something to boo at - YOU!
To all the fighters - CHEERS AND RESPECT from me!
- JustJanis the BadHabitBabe MMA/UFC Fan!
PS... And to the fans who boo'd at Tito - shame on you - he fought a great fight - we would have loved to see more but that is the way it went and he deserved nothing but your appreciation.

Yep they straight booed Anderson when he won. I notice probably 90 percent of the people were rooting for Rich.

of course
Dana promoted rich like he was the All American Champion Fighter.. and he got dominated... None of them expected that...
but then again.. i love how UFC will stick to showing ppl like Paris Hiltons response to a Knock Out rather then Fighting Pioneer's like Sakuraba

Good idea. I am still a big noob to MMA, but when I first started watching I would get really bored during the ground parts...but as I watched more and learned the technical side of things, mainly from joe rogan's explenations mind you, I have come to appreciate how insanely hard those guys are usually working when on the ground and I really like it.

Yeah it was BS. I think I posted something like "poor Anderson" because they booed him.
I was at UFC 61 when they had no idea about Silva walking in the Octagon. A lot of inept people at the events.
