Everyone keeps talking about Hughes coming up to fight Anderson Silva ... well you're all looking past the obvious ... George St. Pierre will topple Hughes next month. He would be the one in the UFC who could probably give Silva the biggest run for his money, pound for pound. He's got the frame to move up to middleweight as well. Here's who I like ... top 5 fighters (in the UFC), pound for pound:

1. Georges St. Pierre
2. Matt Hughes
3. Anderson Silva (gotta put him in there now!!)
4. Chuck Liddell
5. Diego Sanchez (that's right, you read right! If he moves up to middleweight he'd also be a fine pick against Silva!)

personally im not so sure that gsp will topple matt hughes. he will give matt one hell of a fight, but matt always finds a way to win. for example take a look at the hughes vs trigg fight at ufc 52. hughes got kicked in the balls and took about 40 punches to the face. he then came back to do a freakish slam on trigg and then submit with with a rear naked choke.......... enough said:thumbsup:

yeah, that's true, but I feel St. Pierre has come way too far ... he won't be denied, he's as strong as Matt, seems to have as good a game if not better and is far more explosive and HUNGRY

Did you see GSP/Trigg? it was total domination. Matts dealing with a whole different animal in GSP than he did with Trigg. Nut shot or not.

AA is top 5 for sure. ufc 59 was a fluke and 61 he was injured. you cant take away that run he had where he destroyed everybody including a 10 second knockout. i cant wait until his fight in december
He needs to come back and prove he wasnt a paper champ. He never really beat any tough competion. Fluke or not he lost twice and doesnt deserve to be ahead of alot of guys right now. And arent you the guy that made the AA should retire thread?

It is obvious that St Pierre will topple Hughes? I'm tired of everyone righting off Hughes, lots of people were saying he had no chance against Penn, and look what happened. If you think St Pierre is going to win thats one thing, but to says its obvious that he will topple him, thats just ridiculous. Weather Hughes wins or St Pierre wins, its not going to be an easy for either fighter.

well said...I think you GSP fans..should realize that Matt Hughes isnt some kind of easy fighter to get passed by.....I am also a GSP fan but Cash is right....to say GSP will topple Hughes..is completely Biased. We'll just have too wait and see what GSP has in store for Matt.

1. Hughes.
2. Liddell
3. Silva.
4. Sherk
5. Sylvia(Yea, I'm naming champs. They should be ranked).
6. GSP.
7. Ortiz.
8. Sanchez
9. Franklin
10. BJ Penn(Yea, I'm having a tough time filling out # 10. Nothing against Penn).

I think naming the champions is good. I mean, like him or not, Sylvia's the world champ. I know most hate the big oaf, but I had to put him in the list.

Franklin's coming off that loss, but I think he should still be ranked. His only UFC loss, and it was to a great opponent.

Silva has cemented his UFC status by defeating Franklin in record time.

Hughes is the man right now. The guy fought(And defeated) everyone the UFC threw at him. A true champion who is a prick, but his personal life doesn't affect me.

Sanchez is undefeated and proven. After GSP vs Hughes, he will be the next in line, or he should be atleast.

Finally someone agrees that Sanchez belongs in there!
