What could Franklin have done differently?

Yeah, here's another new thread, thanks for putting up with me ... I watched the fight again and it seemed like Franklin who was having no luck getting out of the clinch should have sunk in the double underhooks, charged in on a bear hug and used his superior strength to wrestle Silva to the ground ... why was he standing with this guy?? He probably knew Silva had a good ground game and there was no where to go! Still, sure beats getting kneed to the midsection 25 times

Shot in, or atleast worked on avoiding(Or neutralizing) the clinch(Pre-fight). Rich just decided to stand with him for some really odd reason. It makes me think he just watched the Leben fight, and none of Anderson's pre-UFC work. Hell, Silva still treated Rich like Leben.

What a beating.

No clue. Franklin really did look off in that fight. I guess he was serious when he said he wanted to stand and trade with him. I always figured Franklin was smarter than that.

Oh well, he paid for it.

Hell, Franklin could've gone the Genki Sudo route. I mean, dancing to try and throw off your opponent is better than just walking into that Thai clinch.

benefactor has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Maybe he should have used his "get down on your knees" method he tried to sell to Serra on TUF.

hahahaha good one ... somewhere out there not only is Nate Quarry thinking what comes around goes around, but the TUF fighters are thinking he looked past Silva when he said he wasn't gonna give away all his secrets because he was gonna fight one of them

Yeah, when he said that he was going to trade with Silva the night of the Ortiz-Shamrock fight, I thought he was intentionally trying to throw Silva and his camp off

In Rich's defense he said that on the show before he knew he was gonna fight Silva.
