This is a major problem with our congress amd legislature. Many of the members are uninformed of what they are voting on so they vote with the majority of people instead of making their own decisions. If one person can make their argument sound established and convincing then all the members think that person is right and vote based on that instead of making their own decisions based on information they learned.

Agreed and sadly many of them vote based on what their biggest donating lobbyist "requests" of them.

I know it sucks. They don't do their own research and just base their opinions on what the lobbyists, who are pushing their own agendas, tell them. Whoever pays the most gets their agendas taken care of.
Not to mention the fact that they make great money and only have to show up for congress like 100 something days out of the year. I really can't stand our political system but there really isn't a way to change it.
If the "big" news was indeed MMA in New York, I guess I'd happy, considering what I expected from Dana. I wouldn't consider it to be HUGE news though to be honest. It's great and all but really, it's not too big of news to me.
It would've been really HUGE news if they signed Akiyama or Gomi. ^^

But even if they had done there research they would have probably watched the Elite XC card on free cable television and seen a heavly hyped street thug and a giant mutant exploding ear as well as a doctor stoppage, not exactly a good card to be on tv before so much is put on the table.

While that is true I would hope that they had watched previous fights as well as part of their research. If you are actually doing serious research on something I would hope that you would check more then one source, in this case watch more then one card, so that you could understand the full spread of the topic. But then again this is our government i'm talking about so they do the opposite of everything smart and conventional.
It would be the greatest thing ever and I would be first in line for tickets so hopefully they pass the bill. There really is no reason to shoot it down. MMA is highly regulated and has come so far from what it used to be that it should be legal in every state and the people that vote against it are just ignorant of the sport.
i dont get it is this supposed to be good, i mean if you read the article it talks about getting approval for mma in NY and then it goes on to say that the guy that initiated the whole process voted against it in the end......wierd shit but it doesnt seem good...

I was responding to Terry77's post about an event in the Garden being an epic experience I just didn't quote him.
The article talks about how it didn't pass this week but there is still a chance it could as it is going to be voted on again next week.
