Wait a second. No interview for Tanner? What if he is retiring? That's not cool, I'd like to hear what he has to say.

Tanner was way to timid in this fight...He was'nt nearly aggressive enough to beat Kendell. Kendell came out aggressive and used his reach advantage to get an early edge and that edge kept getting wider and wider throughout the fight. Kendell did not look that great but he was great enough to beat Tanner...Tanner has said on his blog he signed a 4 fight contract, so maybe he will get one more chance. I like Tanner and was hoping he would suceed.

So I guess its Grove vs. Mcfedries next....

this fight bummed me out... i soooooo wanted Evan to win, and thought he would... as for the SD... the only thing i can come up with is that Evan seemed to be the aggressor most of the fight.... he took a beating, but seemed to be moving forward.... i dunno.. maybe thats what they saw.

Man...some referees should consult an ophthalmologist , courtesy to Burger King and receive a $5000 .
My other solution is to test the referees for banned substances before every event.

Was that Cecil Peoples who gave that god damn stupid score? Seriously, every time I hear the dumbest score I can think of it comes from Cecil Peoples.

I wouldn't say that Evan Tanner wasn't aggressive enough, he really was coming on strong, he used his strength over Grove to push him against the fence for some dirty boxing and takedowns. I really think that is goes to show how much better Grove's training was for this fight. He didn't go out and do his thing, he knew what to expect and you can tell that he had trained it till it became routine because even when he got caught by surprise he instinctually did the right thing.

I really like Evan Tanner and this was most likely his last fight, but just like Matt Hughes, Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture, Chuck Liddel, etc, you have to respect what the man did for the sport before it blew up.

Kendall looked really good, but he still had some area's that are a little concerning. He didn't use as many kicks and I think that may be in part to Tanner being a GnP specialist. He also didn't seem to find his range that well and it meant that Tanner 2 out of 3 times could close the distance with him and get him on the cage. Kendall is the tallest guy and probably has the longest reach (maybe A.S.?) in the 185 division, he really needs to train with Sylvia (I can't believe I am saying this) and learn how to use it to his advantage to keep people on the outside.
