Was that Cecil Peoples who gave that god damn stupid score? Seriously, every time I hear the dumbest score I can think of it comes from Cecil Peoples.
I wouldn't say that Evan Tanner wasn't aggressive enough, he really was coming on strong, he used his strength over Grove to push him against the fence for some dirty boxing and takedowns. I really think that is goes to show how much better Grove's training was for this fight. He didn't go out and do his thing, he knew what to expect and you can tell that he had trained it till it became routine because even when he got caught by surprise he instinctually did the right thing.
I really like Evan Tanner and this was most likely his last fight, but just like Matt Hughes, Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture, Chuck Liddel, etc, you have to respect what the man did for the sport before it blew up.
Kendall looked really good, but he still had some area's that are a little concerning. He didn't use as many kicks and I think that may be in part to Tanner being a GnP specialist. He also didn't seem to find his range that well and it meant that Tanner 2 out of 3 times could close the distance with him and get him on the cage. Kendall is the tallest guy and probably has the longest reach (maybe A.S.?) in the 185 division, he really needs to train with Sylvia (I can't believe I am saying this) and learn how to use it to his advantage to keep people on the outside.
