Unbelievable a judge gave the fight to Tanner. If this was EliteXC and Tanner was Kimbo I would say a judge got bought off. But I guess this shows that judges, just like refs, can be incompetent no matter what organization and no what fighter. There's no conspiracy, it's just stupidity.

I have a guess on why the judge scored it like that. He probably viewed takedowns, which Tanner had more of, more strongly than strikes that do damage which Grove dominated.

Bas Rutten summed up how to fix this problem best, takedowns should not be scored if the fighter doesn't do anything after the takedown. Tanner in this fight is a classic case of that.

The ufc is so weird sometimes with there scoring. Tanner did win that first round though he was the aggressor and got the takedowns even though he did nothing with them. I dont know what the problem with the split decision is watch the fight again. 1st round tanner. It was close though.

It wasn't really a big deal that it was a split decision. I scored the fight 29-28 for Grove but it wasn't as one sided as some of you think. The first round was close but I gave it to Grove. The second round was all Grove. I scored the third round for Tanner, though. He was the aggressor in the third round and worked more.

I guess one judge felt the first round belonged to Tanner which isn't that big of a deal in my opinion.

I gave rounds 1 and 3 for tanner, not for much, but he was the aggressor and did more than Grove. Grove took the 2nd easily, maybe a 10-8. Rounds 1 and 3 could go either way. Round 2 could be 1 or 2 points for Grove.

The problem is, again, with the biased commentary of Joe Rogan. He takes sides and only tells what one of the fighters is doing He even said that Grove "overwhelmed" Tanner. He rocked him in the 2nd, but he couldn't finish, and Tanner was a lot more active in the 3rd. I really can't stand the man. Just turn the volume off and re-watch the fight.
