English, Portuguese, Japanese.....I could care less. If you can fight, you can fight. Simple.

Yah...why worry about if the fighter can speak fluent english/japanese.....when they have translators, staff members, or a written translation on TV or something ..don't see why everyones so worried about the way they speak. Marketing should not be a problem for non-english speakers...seriously, if the fighters good then why worry about language :P

Here's selling the product:
Silva before fighting Leban: "I'll tell you what's going to happen....I'm going to throw punches, and he's going to throw punches, and I'm going to knock him out."
Silva before fighting Franklin: "He's going to hit me, and I'm going to hit him and we'll see what happens."
A fighter don't need to speak period. He can be mute, so long as he's got "hands." That's all that matters ta me.

The question here is if Frank Mir is right! Is it important for the UFC champion to speak fleunt english? If so, where does that leave Anderson Silva? Your thoughts!

Translator, no big deal.
Do all the Pride fighters speak Japanese?
I think thats a pretty stupid thing to say, and I like the idea of people from other cultures coming here and fighting.

I've always thought they should utilize Mir more in the commentators booth. The guy was just really good at UFC 50. Really bad event, but it was the commentary from Mir that made a bad show tolerable.
