Liddell on the other hand would quite possibly IMO be the worst fight ever since they are both counterpunches and no one would really be the aggressor.
I think the toughest opponent Machida could possibly face is one who is as quick if not quicker to the kick that Machida, since that would have him trail in the points and we might actually see what Machida is made of.
I am not saying the guy sucks since he has not lost to anyone so there is no way of anyone making such a statement but I personally see him like a Cung Le in I am not yet sold on the guy yet, could change after his next fight or 2 and I will be the first to eat crow on my statements.

O.K...I agree with you on the Liddell thing...as far as Wandy, Im not saying i think this would happen necessarily....assume Machida vs. Wandy and Machida got the win, it went to decision and Machida got it.....THEN would you think he is a good fighter, if he beats Wandy and finshes Wandy would that one win against Wandy change your mind????? The answer: I doubt it highly, it seems to me that you may not be entertained by his style(many are not) but either way he keeps winning and imo if Tito wanted he could have backed up and let Lyoto come to him, he didnt cuz Tito instead walked into Dana's assasins trap, the trap was the following machida around the cage and being countered, and IF Tito did back off its my opinion that Machida would have thrown very technical and well placed strikes and still won that fight... remember as you say you think Wandy would chase him down.....Wandy is running a huge risk of getting caught on the way in..thats Machida's style!

How in the hell do you attempt to crush a counterpuncher anyway?

You don't.
An overly aggressive striker is not the kind of fighter that would beat Lyoto. In fact, it's probably the worst style anyone could ever come in with against Lyoto.

Or you press him up against the cage and beat him up.

Assuming that's possible. Hows about Jardine? After the way he dealt with Chuck I maybe wouldn't mind seeing how that would turn out. Ok not exactly exciting but maybe what's needed to take his cherry.

I was thinking more of the type of guy that can clinch and use some dirty boxing Randy style. I think the way to beat Machida is to keep him in front of you and not give him any room. The challenge is getting him in that position.
