Countdown : Silva vs Irvin - Who watched it ?

How do the fighters look ?

-Does silva look much bigger than before (muscles vs fat)?

-Is Irvin as beef as in the other fights ?

-Any general thoughts about their preparation?

Thx

I watched it and it furthered my opinion that Silva is going to destroy Irvin. I think Silva's speed and application of reach will be the deciding factor. I also think Irvin will suffer from the same sense of awe that GSP claims he had when fighting Matt Hughes for the first time.

However, both guys seem like great people so I hope the best for both of them.

I actually think the Vera fight will be a good match-up, but probably won't be that exciting to watch.

I also think JT will beat CB with GnP.

Wish we had a league for us to compete in the UFC Fantasy pics. I will post my scores regardless.

Would have liked if they gave some attention to Edgar and Franca. That's a better fight than CB and Taylor.

irvin has a monster neck....

and i loved when silva said..."if he stands with me...i think it will be funny"

i see this fight going alot like franklin vs. silva 2...but a part of me wants irvin to viciously KO silva and do the 'bang bang' thing immediately after in badass fashion ala houston alexander

I watched it. I think Irvin is a good test for Silva at 205, and it won't be an easy one. Irvin has proven that he's still and up & comer at 205. I think Fieos is right though, Silva will take this fight if his speed still translates well at 205.

Anderson doesn't look bad at 205, but Irvin is "at home" at 205. This will defintely be a challenge for Silva.

I want to see they weigh-ins before I make my picks on Franca vs Edgar. I'm worried that Franca will be able to out-grapple Edgar like Maynard did. I think Edgar could win via UD by outworking him, but I think Franca has more ways to finish the fight. I wish they would have showed them training.

1st - Was very impressed with Irvin. He constantly mentioned that Anderson is the baddest man on the planet and he is excited to fight him. He hasn't been to bold as to say is going to win but he seems ...prepared. His coaches seem to think they have a great gameplan for him.

2nd - Anderson looks very focused, he mentioned that he is looking towards the challenge as oppose to Irvin himself. He said that if Irvin is the one then that is what it is. I don't think he is looking past him, I just think he views it as a challenge in itself.

3rd - I thin Vera is getting handed this guy so he can get back in the win column. I think they want he confidence up so he can start doing better because he is very carismatic.

No comments on the CB vs JT, I don't know how that is going to go.
