Not even the UFC started off making millions, think about potential sponsorship money and endorsement deals.

Dana knew Fedor was good before this fight. He just didnt want to help out any competition by saying he could possibly be the best HW if not the best fighter in the sport. If he had been able to snag Fedor the hype machine would have made him out to be an indestructible god. Its just good business.

That's not hype, his only "loss" was because of an illegal strike.

No shit. Im talking about that the UFC and Dana would have promoted him as the best HW in the world if they had gotten him as opposed to saying he sucks when hes fighting for other organizations.

The question is, will Affliction be able to put together another card stacked with great fighters?
Also, they aren't going to have another event untill November while the UFC gets in 1 or 2 events in per month.

That's a warrior, willing to lay his life on the line. I've had Marines that have laid their lives on the line for the man next to him, and for their family and country. That's a warrior. The guy who goes into some athletic contest who has no war experience, in my eyes, really has no right to call himself that. That's a coveted thing to call someone, and that's what I call my Marines. Those are warriors." - Brian Stann

I think they will, IF their biggest megastar Chuck Liddell loses to Rashad Evans, which I think he will due to age and injuries slowing him down. Because then the UFC would lose star-power, also their not doing their best to promote their potential megastars (Wanderlei, Anderson, BJ, GSP).
Agains it's an if, but Dana's not supporting the fighters he should.

well the thing of it is, most those guys got paid 2 and 3 times what they would in the ufc...
see boxers get paid a ton more...but at a boxing show only 1 or 2 boxers will actually get paid, and the ones that do usually get a ppv and gate cut, so the production company doesnt actually shell out much money to them so everyone goes away rich...where as in this case affliction made negative dollars by pay alot to many many fighters, and paying for production, and megadeath, and giving a portion of the ppv buys away.
bad business plan....im really shocked they paid tim 800k lol ben rothwell shouldnt get 100k, hes only fought in the ifl....

Dana kind of has to concede Tim Silvia as a legitimate opponent.
What's he really gonna say, "Tim Silvia was not worthy, our former UFC champion is a can".

I'm sorry, that was such a waste of money...particularly Arlovski.
Dana is right, they'll inevitably go under with these type of paychecks. They're not yet the UFC.

I guess you could make an argument for Tim, but how is arlovski a waste of money? They guy is extremely popular. Even my brother, who knows very little about MMA, loves Arlovski.
Paying a guy that draws in a ton of PPV buys, and puts on a fantastic show(see Big Ben's face), a lot of money is not a waste.
I'm sure Fedor made a ton of money in some other way though.

He had to have. There is something going his way over there.
