People make it seem like his fight with Overeem was easy or sumthing. He had to work in that fight. It might not have been as grueling as Arona's fight but Im sure Shogun was tired too. If the fight between Arona and Shogun was close then I would say "hey maybe if Arona didnt have that long fight with Wand he woulda had a chance". But Arona never had a chance, he got outclassed.

I do agree, I just hate when fights go down like that. Kind of like Hansen vs. Aoki.

Shogun also had amazing conditioning at the time. I think he would have won the fight regardless, though.

He would have been a human punching bag for coleman which is exactly what rampage was for him.
So first you don't come up with a decent argument and now you are finding ways of supporting other people's aruments against you? At least you show promise at being able to give good examples even if they do disprove yor argument.

Seriously, though, I think Shogun's biggest challenge is going to be getting his cardio going again. He has been out of commision for so long, I am starting to wonder if this was what some members predicted: a career ending injury.
This post wins...

as Shogun has prooven before, he has great ground game with his ground and pound and BJJ.

However this topic has been talked about time and time again and it just ends in pointless flame wars, so i'm stepping out.

I'm starting to think you're just trolling now. I try my hardest to be respectful in threads but you've shown no real knowledge and are just simply bashing Shogun. It's blind hate like this that really gets to me, you might not like a fighter but at least try to come up with some sort of credible argument rather than just reiterating the same ridiculous points over and over.

If you fail to recognise the difference between what happened in the Coleman fight and Shogun breaking Rampages rib then your beyond help.

If you insist on calling Shogun a mediocre fighter then your beyond help.

If you can't see that Shogun wasn't a top fighter then I think your beyond help.

See, anyone can stress the same point over and over but at least give reasons for you opinions.

Actually forget it, your beyond help.

Those injuries were caused by soemthing their opponent did. Rampage didn't come into the fight with a broken rib and Shogun didn't stratyoff with a broken arm.

Before this gets too crazy why don't we all agree that Shogun has been very impressive in the past, but his future is uncertain and will be determined by his next few fights.

Now that we all agree, let's use our super powers to send Shogun positive, healing energy.

...I feel like I should go hug a tree or somthing after saying that.

And don't get into the whole "fighter A beat B, but B beat C, but C beat A so..."

I mean Chuck beat Wanderlei so Chuck > Wanderlei. But Wanderlei beat Jardine so Wanderlei > Jardine. But Jardine beat Chuck so Jardine > Chuck.

Slight difference here, Shogun and Anderson meant to hurt their oppoenents, Coleman just grabbed a leg and got a sloppy takedown.

If Shoguns arm had broken when Coleman actually slammed him, you might have a point.

Throw Rampage and Tito into the Chuck Wandy equation and your head will literally explode, seriously, it happened to someone I know.

Well we apparently dont have to argue about the Coleman fight anymore. After Shogun submits him in December that old fight wont matter any.
