Thales Leites vs. Goran Reljic at UFC 90?

We previously reported that the Brazilian fighter from Nova Uniao was scheduled to face Dean Lister in next UFC Fight Night [September 17], but once the ADCC 2003 open weight division champion was forced to withdraw - due to an injury - the Leites's name was never officially announced. This time after contact with both camps the match Leites versus Reljic was agreed for Allstate Arena, Illinois.
Reljic fought eight, of his nine bouts, as a heavyweight, making the cut to light heavyweight on his UFC debut when he defeated ATT's Wilson Gouveia by TKO in UFC 84-"I'll Will" (May 24). On the other hand, Leites, a known submission specialist, is on a path to reaching a UFC contender position and was last seen defeating Nathan Marquardt via split decision in UFC 85-'Bedlam' (June 7).

Reljic looked big compared to Gouveia who also is going down to MW now so that is why I am kind of surpirsed he is coming down but I think he will get subbed by my boy Leites.

Goran's got a pretty solid grappling pedigree. I don't see Thales subbing him. Goran kicking his head off is a little easier to picture, and I usually ROOT for Thales.
How in the hell is Reljic cutting down to 185 even humanly possible?!
Only way I see Leites taking this one is if the cut turns Goran into Brandon Vera Version 2.0, or if Reljic gets some last-minute pointers from Nate the Great.

Thales was luckyt that Nate was deducted points. Goran takes this by a pretty brutal KO.

I don't know, Thales is a really, really, really good grappler. I definitely think he can sub Goran.
Should be a great fight, though. I have high hopes for both men, but right now, I have higher hopes for Thales. I think he could be a contender.

I liked Reljic's UFC debut against Gouveia but he did look a bit sloppy on the ground. Leites is a black belt in BJJ and has seriously one of the best ground games in the MW divsion. Reljic does have better stand up than Leites but I dont think Leites would try to strike with Reljic for too long.
Leites by Submission in the 2nd Round.

Just because Reljic got a pretty solid grappling pedigree doesn't mean anything, Thales has some of the best jiu-jitsu in the division

Even though they both have a lot of potential I am going with Reljic by TKO in this one

If it hits the ground, it's Thales's fight. If they stay standing I would give it to Goran.

Reljic impressed the hell out of me against a game Gouveia. Thales is also a solid fighter, however he got very lucky against Marquardt.
If Reljic cut goes well I will forsure pick him.
