Is this a joke, does anyone remember Silvia V Mir? Tim has no real takedown defense, and no real ground game... he already got his arm broke once by someone who was far shorter than him, look for another win from Monson, IDK if it will be submission or just some good ground game.

Mir didn't take Sylvia down. Sylvia took Mir down and got cought in a submission. I doubt Sylvia will make that mistake again, besides monson is no where near the submission specialist that Mir was at that time.

It depends on how he uses it. He's got a good package for the job of shooting in for a single leg in being 5'9" and 240 lbs of muscle and he's got the opponent to do it to in Sylvia who fights straight up. Classic stand up versus grappling with both guys being good at what they do. I think once it goes to the ground, Sylvia will have a tough time adjusting to fighting what I consider a little "ball of muscle" in Monson so.....

I'm going with Monson for the upset, by submission.

Monson is better on the ground than Mir, IMO he has won so many tournatments lately abu dabi world champ etc. And for him to take down silvia would be a breeze due to his short stature...

I agree with the monson supporters. Being a shorter fighter myself, I like shooting on taller opponents. It just seems like an easier takedown with the way I use my leverage.

Can't say who will win the fight. I want Monson to win, though.

Yeah Monson said during his interview about the fight that he thinks of it as an advantage, and I can see what he means......Sylvia claims hes too quick for Monson, but thats BS, for a big dude the Snowman can def. move......IF and only IF he is able to get Sylvia down, hes got a good chance at submitting him. Id give my left nut to see a new champion crowned, although wishful thinking never got anyone anywhere haha

Punching at a much shorter opponent can be a pain in the arse!

DITTO!

Tim doesnt look like the most agile focker out there. As soon as Silvia throws a leg kick Monson should barrel in and drop him to the ground.
