UFC vs. PRIDE???

Does anyone think that Pride coming to America increases the chances of us possibly seeing a UFC vs PRIDE tournament or even an easier draw of fighters from one organization to another? I love UFC [I was at UFC 3 in my home town(Charlotte, NC) at 10 years old and loved it since] but I believe Pride has superior fighters and Dana knows that and is afraid of them dominating his UFC fighters.

No, I see one company running another out of business.

It's like Beta vs VHS

Even though Beta delivered superior video and sound quality VHS gobbled up the market and took over.

Bye bye Pride

Good point but I see too much fanbase right now to run the other out of business. They can take this all over the world too, so if one company is doing more poorly they can go to Japan or Brazil even and always have a strong fanbase.

UFC has way better marketing, they put their stuff on commercials, they no how to fire up fights, promotion, connections, etc. PRIDE FC has a bunch of freaks like Cesar Silva and Butterbean. That doesn't help it at all. But we shall wait and see. I think UFC will win though since they are becoming too popular.

The UFC and Pride will never have a tournament...not unless some serious changes were to go down at the UFC.

The reason, the UFC fighters would get slaughtered.

I just wish someone would come up through the ranks and amaze us all. I think Pride and UFC have gotten kinda stale. After these next 2 UFC's and this next Pride I don't see a whole lot happening in any amount. Hopefully they'll surprise us with a Lindland vs. Silva or even Wanderlei (or Cro Cop) vs. Liddell. I just am getting ansy I guess.

I think Dana White is sweating right now at the prospect of Pride coming to America. I don't think he's concerned about fighter cross over as much as Pride becoming bigger and better ... especially since the better talent probably IS there

To be honest i hope one of the 2 organisations does send the other out of business. The only way MMA will evolve into a truly global sport (which it definitely has the potential to do) is through unification. One set of rules, one configuration of fighting arena and fighters competing for one set of true world titles at LW, MW, LHW and HW.

Evolution at its most magnificent.......... survival of the fittest!

Charles Darwin - "In the natural world, evolutionary speaking its not the most intelligent or the strongest organism thats the most successful but the most adaptable and versatile."
