that's a better mma math don't you think(although it doesn't prove anything) then using a fight that happened 8 years ago for an example.(vitor-wandy).

that being said, i will pick wanderlei for the win, but chuck is a smarter fighter then he was in the rampage fight. this is a very very hard fight to call. especially with two fighters the caliber of wandy and chuck. each of these fighters have some of the best striking power in mma and both of them can knock the other out in the blink of an eye.

a definate winner of this fight would be the fans.

i doubt either organization will just let the other have the fight though, this has the potential for a main event that's going to sell a lot of ppv's. perhaps an inter-organization fight event.
OK, well then look at how wandy drops his hands after throwing a leg kick. Now, do you really think chuck being the counter-striker that he is, wouldn't pick up on this from watching tapes, or capitolize on this during the fight? Wandy's striking is sloppy, and chuck lands his punches better when he and his opponent are both swinging.

I agree with the entire second half of your post... it would be an amazing fight, and something that I would love to see.

Yeah you're probably right. It seems like it would be embarrassing for the UFC if the Pride fighters started coming to the UFC & taking all their belts away from their stars.

I just hope the UFC, the fighters, some of the people within the fighting game look at some of these ideas that the fans have on these forums, because they are really good ... a fight between Liddell and Rampage would be killer!!!!!

I would like to see Wandy win but that is true he's a little sloppy when his hands start flying & Chuck might just crack him a good one.

Yep, 2007 could be a great year for the sport. Some of these obvious match-ups are too good to ignore.

But the question is, will the obvious problems between pride and UFC, as highlighted by the recent lidell debate, become a henderence to these matchups. I mean everyone here agrees that the pride champs V the UFC champs would be amazing, as would various other matchups. But can the leaders of both companies make it happen?

Great post first off. Secondly Pride coming to the U.S. was an obvious slap in the face to UFC, and yes you can bet things are that bad between the two companies. The UFC is well just getting out of infancy, its gaining strength and what not, and for the first time has the cash to start pulling fighters out of pride. The two companies dont appear to be getting along at all and now i fear we are going to see a rather large pissing contest from now on.
