But the current antics of some of these fighters post match just reek of professional wrestling type showman ship. To me it just show a total lack of sportsman like conduct. There is a reason the NFL frowns on touchdown type flash.

I can not remember the name, but I remember one the fighters actually trying to chill the crowd out that was booing for his oppenent, that is class and lasts a lot longer than what is currently allowed to happen.

I think that was Franklin when the crowd were booing SIlva in Ohio, Frankilins home state but Franklin is a very classy dude.

When Gonzaga went nuts after KO'ing Crocop I liked that. Lesnar's antics were foolish but he is new and inexperienced, there is a fine line between gamesmanship and disrespect and sadly its heading towards disrespect.

Since Franklin is a former teacher i think he should hold a seminar teaching "how to have class" to classless fighters..

I think brazilian fighters celebrate great yet not insulting to opponents.

Rooting for..
HW - Brandon Vera
LHW - Lyoto Machida
MW - Martin Kampmann
WW - John Fitch
LW - Clay Guida

that was an awesome read man, thanks for the article. Damn I really liked that alot, made alot of solid points. Baronis entry on the first live MMA event on CBS or what not was sad for the sport, shit like that makes me cringe to say I like and train in such a sport. Headbutting someone like Baroni did as well also makes me look away, we need to support Mixed Martial Arts not Ultimate Fighting and/or a WWF type of MMA.

Casual fans are needed yes but tauntin oppenents and having no class etc is not something we should be participating in just to get "casual fans". If they want to see people killing each other and retarded intros, head butts, sucker punches, shit talking etc then go watch WWF or a movie

Believe.

If i'm reading that right, you're saying Baroni headbutted? It was Scott Jansen's brother, that headbutted Baroni after the fight. Baroni went to check on Scott Jansen after Baroni Ko'ed his ass, and his brother slammed his head right into Baroni. Very classless and his brother has been banned. Baroni handled it with class!

This was at CageRage a couple weeks ago.

What's so thought provoking? Seriously.

"Too much showboating is bad-- according to some random nobody".

Wow. I'll be dwelling on this piece of sophistry for days, especially on the toilet.

In a way I wish Baroni had knocked that wank*rs head off. Baroni handled the incident with class but man that guy was asking for a beat down and Baroni could of given it to him.

In my books if your going to come in the cage and headbutt somebody you better be ready to fight!

I love MMA and don't want it to be a pantomime but that guy....wow...he's lucky baroni was in a good mood. I don't think anybody would of begrudged Baroni if he had kicked his p*ssy ass.

Ramon Dekkers (to me ... the best fighter ever) + Anderson Silva + Renato "Babalu" Sobral + Chuck Lidell + Peter Aerts + Forrest Griffin + Nick Diaz + Roger Huerta + Paul Taylor (get a ground game please) + Lyoto Machida + Gonzaga = LIGHTS OUT!
