But just for the sake of it I'll throw a name out there,
Nick Diaz.

Nick Diaz ain't in the UFC bud. If I were to choose a fighter that wasn't UFC I'd say Jake Shields.

But I think a fighter that would give GSP a run in the UFC would have to be Marcus "The Irish Handgrenade" Davis. That would be my pick.

Someone with good enough wrestling to manage to keep the fight standing at least 20% of the time, with incredibly heavy hands, and a good luck charm in his pocket to land that one shot right on the jaw/tample and the killer instinct to finish the fight immediately afterwards.

Didn't I just say that. Good call with the Irish handgrenade though.

Swick has looked pretty good. The Burkman fight was a snoozer, but his TDD was real solid. That, and he has a huge wingspan.

Not sure if I can see him stopping GSP's takedowns, though. He'd probably end up on his back, eating elbows and punches a la Jon Fitch.

Jdun, I'm wondering whether you should keep calling these fights against GSP. He always seems to win when you do that. First Kos, then Fitch —— you sure you're not giving GSP some magical anti-jinx power or something?

I honestly don't believe that person exists. The only guy capable of keeping GSP's fights standing for an extended period of time is... GSP, if he wants to strike instead of go to the ground.

That man has the reflexes of a freaking cat. I really think that if he shows up with his A-game, GSP's standup isn't going to be very effective, and as good as GSP is on the ground... it's pretty hard to bet against BJ at grappling.
Sherk sucks, and isnt too bright. All he threw in that fight was hooks.

And about 50 overhand rights. All of his one, twos were followed by overhand rights.

He completley telegraphed his game by round two.
