You think the UFC would really pay him that much? He's a great fighter, but he's not really recognized past the hardcore fan community in the US. I think he'd be starting off at a lot lower wage than that, for a while at least.

I don't know! Guys like Cro Cop and Rampage were hardly recognizable by the casual fans and they seemed to break the 300,000 mark.

Aside from all that I like hansen a lot he is in my top 10 of favorite fighters. I hope everything works out for him. I like DREAM as well so I don't mind watching him there.

$9,000 for winning the GP is really really low. I don't understand why you would want to be fighting for such a small amount of money when you could come to the US and make so much more. Hansen needs to learn that sometimes you need to suck it up and ignore your boss being an asshole so that you can do something better for yourself.

I think if Hansen negotiated right he could get at least $75K a fight. He may not be known past the hardcore fans but neither were Rampage, Cro Cop, Shogun etc and they managed to get well over 100K, even making up to 300K. Look at Anderson, he was virtually unknown to everyone but the hardcore fans and the only time you really heard his name was when someone was talking about the Chonan fight. He comes into the UFC, wins a few fights, the UFC starts their hype machine and now everyone and their brother is touting him as the P4P best fighter. Hansen would do great in the UFC and if he racked up a few wins and the UFC started to hype him I think he could become pretty big here. There's some good matchups for him in the UFC LW division and I think he can beat any of the LW's but fights with BJ and Sherk would be tough.

We have no source for this $9000 to win the GP, so take it with a grain of salt.
Last time I remember, the UFC offered him $25000(or somewhere around there). Obviously DREAM offered him more or more incentives for him to go their instead. I remember Hansen was very vocal during the PRIDE buyout(and the buyout of his contract) and he was pissed that the UFC was trying to like bully him into a contract and tell him he is not worth the money he wants and stuff like that.

Gotchya. In the end he's fine where he is and DREAM is a good venue.

Can't Hansen also fight with other organizations with his contract? That could also be a big reason on why he won't join the UFC. If you're in the UFC, you're ONLY in the UFC. And dealing with Dana would just be some ol bull.

A million yen is like $9000. Even the TUF guys get more than that.
