I'm sure about that. He's making people talk about him and the fight, building some hype, even if we're laughing at his statements, some people will believe him and think he's got a real chance.

Of course, he has a chance, he might caught Anderson with a punch, that can happen, but it is unlikely.

Not that i think he has a chance but if your going down you might as well go down swinging.
Leben and Irwin came out swinging and they just got knocked out faster. I don't think Cote will chase him, he has to know that isn't the way to go. I don't know what the right strategy is frankly but "pushing the fight" or chasing him around has got to be the worst thing to do.

It's better than the strategy of heading butting him in the knees that most fighters of the past have used on Anderson.

I think the best strategy to have a chance against Silva is the take down and GnP. Maybe thats what Cote means by "attacking constantly" and if this is the case, its a good strategy (aside the fact he shouldnt have shown his intentions so early). If you think about it, the guy that gave the most challenge to Silva in the UFC was Lutter. A guy like Silva shouldnt stay on his feet and must be taken down.

“We know how to beat Anderson Silva. The only way to beat him is to push the pace. Go forward all the time…. You can’t let him get confident and comfortable in the centre of the Octagon. You have to push the pace for five minutes every round. If I do that, I can catch him. I’ll take care of him.”

sub fan has a little shameless behaviour in the past
I like the fact that nobody that posted here really believes that Cote will win, I sure don't. Anderson Silva is the best P4P fighter right now period.

I want to see A. Silva Vs GSP @185

Silva beats GSP at 185 in my honest opinion. The main reason, is I think Silva is MUCH better mentally. Much calmer, less room for mistakes or upsets (Serra vs Pierre kind of mistakes).

Yeah Silva should win this fight, but like others have said anythings possible. There are so many variables in a MMA fight you can never count a guy out.

I would love to see a GSP vs Silva fight. I think GSP is just the kind of guy who could beat silva. GSP is a great athlete and a stellar wrestler, he also has a good stand up (though not in Silva's class). GSP would have to take Silva down, keep him down and GNP. The big problem is that GSP seems like the kind of guy who would want to prove his striking and get the big knockout on Silva, which would result in GSP getting knocked out.
