Cote will 'take care of Anderson Silva on October 25
http://mmamania.com/2008/08/17/ufc-q...on-october-25/
Quote:
“We know how to beat Anderson Silva. The only way to beat him is to push the pace. Go forward all the time…. You can’t let him get confident and comfortable in the centre of the Octagon. You have to push the pace for five minutes every round. If I do that, I can catch him. I’ll take care of him.”
– Confident Cote strikes again — this time in the Edmonton Sun via Fight Network radio. The Canadian has been talking quite a good game leading up to his fight against 185-pound demon Anderson Silva at UFC 90: “Silva vs. Cote” at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Ill., on October 25. However, the “Spider” has demolished virtually ever fighter who has adopted the “in your face” strategy inside the Octagon. See James Irvin, Rich Franklin (twice), Nate Marquardt and Chris Leben.

This is not a smart strategy for Cote. He better hope Silva is not pissed at this, or he's going to get his butt kicked even worse.
Save your money for this fight boys! Anderson is going to rip him a new 1.

Cote is a huge underdog in this match. He can still win though. But a stratagy like this will either work, or get him beat faster.

Somehow I think he may just be saying this to make Silva think he will do it. Just to throw him off. I know, its just a baseless theory.

Well we need something to happen in the divison. Getting a little repetive seeing Silva own everyone. Sadly Cote is not the person to mix it up.

Cote's best shot is not "moving forward". Andersons stand-up is levels ahead of Cotes, including his defense. If Patty "moves forward" it's going to end quickly, maybe more quickly then Silva/Leben.
His best shot is some how, some way cut Silva off and press him against the cage and use his cute little foot stomps for 25 minutes. That said, he'll then have to hope for a miracle that Silva doesn't over power him and unleash Muay Tai fury on his arrogant ass while inside the clinch, which would happen. Like I said, hope for a miracle.
Bring on Maia, someone that DOES have tools to beat Silva.

Cote should just swing for the fences, because there is no other way he can win.
