More bad luck for Quarry

MMA Mania

Quote:
Middleweight Nate Quarry has once again found himself on the sidelines, recovering from a facial injury sustained at party in Albany, Ore., more than one month ago. The “Rock” broke his orbital floor -– a bone that keeps an eye in place -– when he was on the wrong end of a golfer’s back swing, according to FCFighter.com. It certainly sounds painful, but fortunately for him, it is nowhere near as serious as the severe back injury that nearly cost him his fighting career.
Here’s a snip from Nate:
“I’m just glad it was me and not some kid or other woman. We had grown men swinging these clubs. If it would have hit a kid or a woman, it would have smashed their face.”
Quarry is on a two-fight win streak since his return to the Octagon almost one year ago. The former 185-pound title challenger knocked the rust off after almost two years of inactivity by knocking out Pete Sell at UFC Fight Night 11 in September 2007.
He then followed up that performance with a unanimous decision win over an extremely elusive Kalib Starnes at UFC 83: “Serra vs St. Pierre 2” in April of this year.
Quarry indicates that he will be ready for action in November or December. There is a pay-per-view (PPV) event rumored for November 15 in Portland, Ore., which would essentially be a fight in his hometown.
Here’s to a speedy recovery.

I wasn't playing with him at the time but a friend of mine got cracked on the forehead from a jackass warming up too close to him and not looking around before he started swinging away.

Tough break for Nate.

I am not a violent man. I train, and could probably hurt most untrained people who are not used to getting hit. BUT...my training is for sport and for self defense.

If this guy had hit me with a big bag full of STUPID by swinging a golf club in a party...yeah, if I was still standing (which I am guessing Nate was), he's getting hit....hard.

LOL, well the whole peeing thing has nothing to do with the picture. I had that in my sig before I put the Fitch picture. Can you believe people actually PM me telling me how they don't like the fact that I'm disrespecting Fitch, but I only put it in my sig cause I'm amazed a guy can look like that after a fight and not have been knocked out.

My sentiments exactly! This guy's "stupid" begs for being punched in the face....hard!

Man that sucks, this guy has had a LOT of issues in his career but he seems to keep a real positive attitude and just keeps coming back. Hope he recovers quickly and gets back into the octagon as he is a great fighter and fun to watch.
