I think with the UFC blowing up like it is, especially since the first season of TUF, they're starting to realize that the fans are really getting them to where they're at. I mean, UFC is getting bigger than boxing, and we're to thank for it. A lot of people don't even understand MMA before they watch TUF. I've gotten about 20 people into MMA just by giving them copies of TUF DVDs.
I don't think it has much to do with wanting to make better PPVs. But maybe more the option of being able to. All the fighters that have been on TUF, even those that didn't win (i.e. Kenny Florian) have gained huge fan bases.
So now, on every PPV, there's a (maybe two) main event(s), then two or three fights that feature TUF fighters. When you have a card like that, you're bound to get a response.
Plain and simple.
