really there's 2 options stand or try to take him down.

Rashad isn't going to had had time develop the skills to beat Chuck's standup before the fight.

He's just stylistically a bad matchup. Mr. Matchmaker was giving Chuck a gift.

i don't get your assertion that 'surely retirement shouldn't be considered'. I am a fan of the guy but he is getting up there in years -- not everyone is Randy Couture who will be putting together game plans for his wheelchair matches in a few years, still.

if a heavily favored chuck loses to rashad i think that returement should be on the table. infact, i think retirement is already on the table. So should be a move up the HW which is what i personally support. a couple of super fights to go out on a bang with.

on the other hand, if he wins... a continued run back at the strap is in order. so i guess the theis of this comment is that is he wins: 'surely returement shouldn't be considered'

Its ridiculous that retirement is being mentioned, Silva lost 3 in a row, henderson 2, Cote started badly in the UFC etc etc
Even if Liddell did lose to Evans i think he would have to lose by a huge margin to middle tier lhws at least a couple of fights before even considering it.

All fights are unique and there are no guarantees regardless of talent etc, if indeed liddell did lose surely retirement shouldnt be considered?
Yeah, I have to say that's ridiculous. Although a retirement this early would preserve his record, it wouldn't necessarily be good for him financially or mentally. He is a guy who is driven to compete and if he retired after Rashad, he'd be very unhappy knowing he is still able compete but isn't. He'd probably come back out after just a year or two.

Chucky should stick around if only to watch him get knocked out a few more times. I predict he gets his belt back and loses it swiftly thereafter.
