Telegraph says Liddell should retire if he loses
The article is on the UFC website-
I completely disagree with the statement that Liddell should retire if he loses!!
All fights are unique and there are no guarantees regardless of talent etc, if indeed liddell did lose surely retirement shouldnt be considered?

I don't think the Iceman should retire just yet. Win, lose, or draw, I know he's still got some good fights in him.

I don't think it'll be an issue. I think he's going to destroy Evans. And I would say a retirement decision may be based on performance. If he gets tooled perhaps but if it's a great close fight why retire?

Hahaha god lose two fights in a row and everyone is ready to count you out for the rest of your career it seems these days. Tons of top guys have lost back to back and made huge come backs and even got their titles back.
Theres Randy Couture,Hughes, Sherk and tons more including Henderson. Chuck lost by flash knock out to Rampage who is one of the best in the world right now and not to mention it couldve happened to anyone.
Jardine on the other hand shouldnt have been hard for Chuck but it was just him not mentally their but then he comes back to dominate Wandy and people still doubt him? Whatever man whoever wrote the aticle must have been beaten in the head as a child. Chuck will be back for the KO no doubt.

Chuck still has a few good fights left in him, so no, he shouldn't retire if he loses. Losing to Rashad, who is a really good fighter, isn't retirement worthy. Now, if Chuck were to lose to Shannon Ritch, then yes, he should retire.

I think the problem is that the LHW division is so damn packed with good fighters any show of weakness means the attention is stolen from you right away.
There are just too many remaining questions in that division and everybody is trying to cancel out anybody that makes a mistake to try and clarify the heads and tails of the situation.
Personally I think a lot of questions would be answered with a Grand Prix event.
Having said that though either way Chuck Liddell makes money and sells fights, it doesn't matter how good or bad he is as long as he's making money he's gonna be in the UFC.

i was not able to find the article, but i think suggesting that chuck should retire if he loses is plainly ridiculous! the telegraph should not be so fickle in its support of great fighters like chuck liddell.
this reminds me a little of similar talk about rich franklin after his second loss to silva, should he retire or change divisions or organizations and such. this type of thinking really angers me. what makes the difference between true champion fighters and those who simply fade away is that champions find a way to overcome and defeat adversity while others are defeated. that to me is the essence of a fighter, and to suggest that chuck simply go away should he lose is disrespectful to the sport in my mind. imagine what mma would be if any fighter who lost a fight he should have won simply quit...we would have no GSP, no BJ Penn, no Chuck Liddell, and no mma.
