he may be better at grappling but hes no Maia or BJ. i think alves will be to strong for him , just as when he fought jon fitch.

Not to bad, its interesting to note both train with ATT so that should make the fight pretty interesting. I was simply saying Lugi packs one helluva a punch and wasn't able to KO Diego. I know I know, Alves knee's are a lot different than Fioravanti's fist but he has to get that knee off and Diego knows what's on the line for him. Personally I think the winner of this one should fight Koscheck for a title shot.
in that case I agree with you.

Really the winner of this fight should be getting a title shot but it doesn't look like that's happening. so fighting Koscheck would probably be second best to that.

I'm so sick of Thiago Alves' bullsh*t. This guy who shut his cakehole, make weight and fight. When he shows up, he needs to show that he's a real fighter, and not someone who has to use diaretics to make weight.

He makes me f*cking angry, because if you can't make weight, you have to reevaluate your position in the division and stop pretending that you made your way to that position on your own.

Too many people are forgiving Thiago.

If he was like Gina (and I'm still not happy with Gina about this), and failed to make weight once, that would be one thing. But this is a guy who cheated to make weight the first time, and the second time he just failed altogether.

He's a serious prick to be talking like this when he's given his fans the kind of latent bullsh*t that he has recently. He just needs to out and let his thai game do the talking and re-earn the respect that he had from alot of guys.
Agree 100% I can't believe ppl want him to get a title shot.

The guy has had weight cutting issues for 2 of his last 4 fights.

The guy weighs 200 lbs he doesn't belong at WW and if he wants to cut down he shouldn't make any excuses for not making weight.

He's not far from that level Norway. The guy rolled with Marcelo Garcia and was pretty much even with him for the match. He is the best grappler at 170 and is world class. He almost caught Fitch a couple of times and Fitch is real good on the ground as well.

Diego is a top notch grappler and he's only improved training with Saulo Ribeiro.

People are talking like Sanchez has a glass chin lol. He has taken some pretty hard punches and hasn't even been dazed yet. There is a first time for everything though, but I think Sanchez will carry it into the later rounds and get a submission victory

I've heard this urban legend, too, but I can pretty much promise that this is bullsh*t.

We're talking about a guy that has only had a handful of competitive grappling matches in his career, so if Thiago was making the fight competitive, it's because Marcelo was practicing, not seriously rolling.

Saulo is a bad ass, so I hope that Diego does really improve his game him. If he does, I think he'll outclass Alves.

I was talking about Diego not Thiago.
And I don't think he was Marcelo was going easy since it was the quarterfinals of ADCC.
