The reason I don't fight MMA is because I barely have a yellow belt in karate from back in the 1990's and if I did fight I would be a middleweight. I would consider training and taking Silva's belt away if I was allowed pepper spray and the company of my two pitbulls in the octagon.......and a taser in case the dogs get caught in his Muay Thai clench.

I can tell you how it feels......imagine funnelling about 7 beers in a minute and then trying to stand up.....once all that beer hits you, its like one of those shots to the dome.....they dont call it punch drunk for nothing.....except you usually arent as happy as you are when you're drunk lol. The worst, in one of my fights I got caught with a HUGE high kick that completely rattled me, lucky it was the end of the round cuz I woulda been finished right then and there, walking back to the corner, I could barely see or hear anything but a loud rining and alot of blurry people.....it was no party

I find it depends on where you get hit...

For me a good strike to the nose (breaking your nose) sends a flash of pain, watering eyes and breathing problems. I usually am not rocked from it though or feel like I am knocked out, just in a lot of pain. (I have had two surgeries on my nose and easily 8 breaks over the years)

Punch or kick to the side of the head usually ringing ears, dizziness, one side of the body is a little messed up.

The worst for me is a hard hit to the ear area. That is what rocks me the most.

I haven't fought in years but did boxing/TKD seriously and a little judo, few fights on the street

Why don't you let one of your buddies punch you in the face? Do it over a soft surface so you don't whack your head when you fall. What the hell, it won't hurt that bad. Then you'll know first hand.

Well ive never been KO'd in a Set fight but ive been knocked out once at a party caught me right in the jaw (before i actually started MMA). Flyingknee's accurate with what he said, i've been rocked a 3 times in MMA (2 in fights, 1 in sparring).

The best way i can put it is its like you were spun around about 30 times with your eyes closed and then you opened them and someone pushed you. I also got SUPER tunnel vision, like it felt like i was looking out of each eye individually.

Anyways it really isn't fun but its part of the sport.

What is it that is going to be on your mind when you're on your death bed? Will it be the tedious years of 9 to 5, or the memory of some great acheivement. Maybe a moment you stood in glory to the applause of millions.

Wow man that is WILD ... it's amazing some of these fighters have their composure after getting rocked, but depending on how you're hit, you can see that most guys switch to survival mode ... they say that is why boxing is more dangerous than MMA because 1 knockout in MMA and you're done, whereas a boxer can get up again and again in a fight, that can't be good .. I say once a fighter is seriously rocked, end the fight for their own safety, none of this 10 count stuff you see in boxing
