If we're talking about a marketing/revenue perspective, this IS the biggest fight in MMA history. However, this bout hardly has the significance that say Nogueira/Fedor or Fedor/Cro Cop had to the hardcore fan.

Amen to that. Both were pretty damn huge and much more significant than Lesnar getting owned by Randy.

Seriously, when I heard this match up I was puzzled. The only audience outside of the regular MMA fans I thought Lesnar draws is the WWE fans. I never knew he was that big to be part of the biggest match or PPA in MMA history.
The WWE has millions upon millions of fans. Not to mention the fact that the WWE has become very main stream. Add that with all the face-time WWE wrestlers get and it's easy to see why this fight would draw huge numbers.

Define 'biggest'. If you're referring to PPV buys, I believe Brock's popularity with mediocre fans and both his and Randy's semi-celebrity status would definitely bring in a lot buys.

However, this should not suggest ANY importance to real MMA fans. This fight is more of a sideshow, no different than Kimbo vs Ken. Brock has potential, but is still ONLY 2-1. Randy, a veteran who is NOW more interested in the money than in the sport.

Ultimately, this fight is of little importance.

it's of pretty big importance.

It's determining who's going to be fighting for the unified title.
