talking about maia vs jmac. why on earth didnt that fight get fight of the night ? i knoe it got submissionOTN but still....

ps. all respect to you guys but i cant really bring myself to see the greatness in the rampage vs forrest fight. it was a good fight, yes. but imo not even close to being fight of the year. not once did that fight have me sitting on the edge of the sofa thinking that anything could happen.

Nogueira vs Sylvia was awesome, and one of my favorite fights of 08. Loved the guillotine choke, but also dug how Nogueira was able to figure out Big Tim in the second round.

Koscheck vs Hazelett has the best round of 2008.

I really liked Clementi vs Stout. That gets zero love. Who? I don't know.

Forrest vs. Rampage really wasn't that great of a fight.

I'd say Nog/Sylvia.

I feel ya on this one! (exept that I haven't thought that much about the Velasquez/O'Brien fight). Fights like these is what makes the UFC for me.

Let me also add Dustin Hazelett vs. Josh Burkman, that freakin' ROCKED!

Maia vs. JMac - Hands down and one of the best fights I may have ever seen. I was constantly moving back and forth from Holy S**t, What the F**K and Oh My God! Lol.

It will be the best fight until Couture/Lesnar and then I expect to see maybe one of the best fights ever.

The problem with giving Maia/MacDonald fight of the year props is that it wasn't much of a fight. MacDonald didn't really put up a fight, he was raped on the ground and showed heart.. that's about it.

It was still exciting though, mainly due to the ground wizardry from Maia.

It wasn't as if it was dominating. MacDonald had Maias back at one point, escaped out what looked to be a brutal triangle, had some ground and pound. He definitely did put up a fight but Maia just took it to him in the third.

But why I had Rampage/Forrest in my top fights is because it was so damn competitive. 5 straight rounds with the two not slowing down much the entire time. I think people just don't like giving that fight credit because they're still bitter about Forrest winning. Christ, it's not as if it was a decision like Bisping/Hamill. Fight could have went either way.

You're just a cook...
