son of a bitch

I was seriously looking forward to this fight.

I swear if he falls off the face of the earth after this I'll be really upset.

This is very disappointing news. Silva/Lyoto was a fight i really wanted to see. 2 up and coming, elite level, undefeated Brazilian fighters with serious skills to see which would move up the ladder.

Lyoto/Shogun would be even better IMO. A healthy Shogun is always dangerouse but stylisticly Lyoto is a bad matchup for Rua. But then again Lyoto's style is a bad matchup for anyone. Definetly hope they do this, but I doubt they want Shogun to lose 2 in a row.

Im not the biggest Machida fan and this was the one fight that really intrigued me in the entire division for me personally this was the fight that would prove to me Machida was more than hype, I like Lyoto but question his quality of opponents as none have looked good and he just exposed a serious weakness against Sokky and well I havent had faith in Tito in a long ass time. There is nobody for Machida to fight now though unless possibly either Rashad/Lidell or Hammill/Franklin goes down quick in which case Evans/Lidell/Franklin would all make interesting opponents.

Legend, I was the one who added the "Breaking News" tag to the title. I though it was a really big story and it didn't really stand out in the thread listings.

This is real crappy news. I was really looking forward to this match up. Hopefully the UFC can find a quality replacement in time.

Man... I am very disappointed in this one. I hope the UFC can find a new fighter for Lyoto to get through to earn his title shot. It'll be interesting to see who the put in front of him(I hope it's not Shogun, I want to see Shogun get a win).

the thing is I thought Thiago was probably the best matchup for Machida at 205. I have no idea who they can put him up against that would be nearly as good of a fight.

Okay, maybe Brian Stann can step in. Since all the top UFC LHW's are tied up. Let's put the top WEC LHW up there, or just cancel Wand and Rampage and put Wand in.q

Wouldn't the top WEC LHW be Steve Cantwell since he just beat Brian Stann? I wouldn't mind seeing Stann get owned by Machida because Stann annoys the hell out of me.
