Ortiz: Juanito Ibarra ripped off Rampage

http://fiveouncesofpain.com/2008/09/...mpage-breakup/

Quote:
In an Interview with PDG, Tito Ortiz chronicled one of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s reasons behind the firing of former trainer Juanito Ibarra.
“Let me explain this to you because it really pisses me off that Ibarra has done what he has done, he is a thief,” said Ortiz. “I have been running training camps for seven years up in Big Bear California and the most that my camp has cost a fighter to attend is $35,000. Ibarra was charging Jackson $65,000 to go to Big Bear. I don’t understand that! He was being very disrespectful and taking advantage of Rampage. Including travel, training partners, food and lodging, the most ever was $35,000, maybe if you flew in more trainers… 40K. Where did that extra money go that Ibarra was charging? Rampage is really pissed and he feels betrayed that he was taken advantage of and I couldn’t agree more with him. I don’t care if Juanito reads this or hears about it anywhere, he already knows that he is blackballed. I don’t care who you are; fighters work very hard for the money they earn and I feel slighted for even knowing Juanito.”

White Chocolate Management (who also represents Jackson) had filed a $10 million lawsuit against Ibarra and Jackson for alleged breach of contract by the two. Jackson has now all but been removed from the lawsuit since since firing Ibarra.
Jackson also recently signed a three-year agreement to train out of the Wolfslair Academy that is based out of the United Kingdom and is the home of both Michael Bisping and Paul Kelly.

Interesting news.

For all your MMA Economists out there, take a look at these training costs before you try to analyze fighter pay and salary. Fighters that fight for $10000, but train out of elite camps sometimes end up in the red. I don't remember who it was(pretty sure one of the guys of TUF, perhaps Koscheck or Leben) saying that they actually nearly lost money fighting in the UFC.

Support Mixed Martial Arts, not Ultimate Fighting

Did Rampage not know how much he was charging? Is that possible?
I imagine a good trainer is like a good lawyer, they charge what they want to.

People Rampage now dislikes:
Ibarra
Pride management
His trainers in pride
More to be added.

Don't get me wrong I do like Rampage, I just don't hate Ibarra just because Rampage does.

Damn That's a shame if it's true. I don't remember the exact words but Jaunito said if Page lost to Forrest that he would either retire or quite....Uh looks like he could be well on his way

Chances make Champion's....Champion's take chances

Haha... forced retirement for Juanito. That's what he gets for making stupid claims about what he would do should Rampage lose and then *****ing out on it.

Never really cared for him to be honest.
