Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans: who takes it?

I think it was reported on Sherdog that Rashad will get the next shot at Forrest! So with that in mind who do you think will win this fight and how?

For me this is actually a tough one to call! I'm having a hard time breaking this one down so I think I'll let you people do all the work! I know its a noobish thing to do but what can I say I'm still a noob.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

I'd pick Forrest to win. He is 6'3" and Rashad is 5'11". Forrest is obviously the better striker as well so I could see him utilizing the jab and leg kicks to win the standup. On the ground, I think it's pretty close. Forrest can neutralize some of the best ground and pounders at 205 so I don't see Rashad doing much damage. Forrest also has submitted Shogun and nearly submitted Rampage so I can see him making Rashad nervous while he is on the bottom.

Conditioning wise, it definitely goes to Forrest and with this being a 5 round fight, I'm confident in picking him to win. Although Rashad can surprise some people. That's for sure.

I see forrest picking him apart until round 3 4 or 5, then when he's ready he'll finish him, either by (T)KO or submission.Forrest will play it safe, unlike chuck

Forrest will execute a very safe yet effective game plan to pick Rashad apart and possibly finish him late in the fight.

This is a real tough one.

I will probably change my pick like 10x before the fight.

Rashad should be able to get Forrest down a lot. However I don't think he will want to because Forrest is clearly better. He has a very good guard not submission wise but defending himself and controlling. And on top if he could get on top of Rashad he will beat on him. Standing IDK It's close. Forrest is IMO the better striker but we didn't see enough of Rashad to know how good he is because he looked to improve a lot.

So ATM I will pick Forrest because I know how good Forrest is and Rashad is very unknown.

I would go with Forest. I think he is the better striker and he ground game is more complete. It could ge either way though, you never know - look at last night.

Forrest is the #1 LHW in the world and miles ahead of Rashad in everything except wrestling, it's not even a contest.

I wont say that many thought Rashads last fight wasnt a contest, Im not guna say it....

and Jardine beat Forrest, Rashad beat Jardine so Rashad beats Forrest doesnt he? hehe just jokin

Im picking Rashad via evolution. He will evolve to suit Forrests style. His speed should nullify Forrest's reach. Doubt he'll be able to finish him tho.

But really its a close one to call.
