Did someone drop you on your head recently? Rashad is most definitly a wrestler (And Chuck just lost to him) and Wandy is one of the most feared and devastating strikers in the division (But chuck outstruck him and took that bout in grand fashion) This whole thing kind of derails your logic.

Drop that argument because its just not valid Liddell has out stricken MANY top strikers in the LHW Division and knocked several of them out in the process. Its not his fault that wrestlers and BJJ guys were the most dominant guys out there during his reign in the UFC.


Chuck got caught no doubt but in my mind that 2 out of 3 times Chuck would win this fight. Dont get me wrong im not makign excuses and he should have had his hands up and realized Rashad would do something crazy but i dont think Chuck would fall for it again. I really think he just didnt expect anything like that from rashad i mean he pretty much ran from Chuck the whole fight and then that came out of nowhere.

Chuck needs to learn from these mistakes becaues it seems to me he consistantly underestimates what his opponents are capable of and seems to construct his gameplan around what that person is known for instead of what that person will bring into the octagon to beat Chuck. he allways expects them to fight him the way they would any of the lesser fighters and jsut isn#t learning from this mistake.

I'm guessing Rich would win, but i don't think Chuck deserves to fight him right now. I think they need to give Chuck someone who is coming off of a loss... a chance for a title shot against Rashad was even a little generous if you ask me. Maybe they could give him Hamill?

I am and always have been a HUGE fan of the Iceman. But frankly, it appears that his time has come.

He is not as fast, he has pretty much quit doing anything but counterpunching (which folks are not walking into like they used to).

The sheer, frightening aggression that used to be the focal point of his fights is not there.

I just don't see anyone really having a need to fight him. And to be honest, I don't see him having anything left to prove. Title shot? The line ahead of him has just gotten longer. And to be honest...I don't think Chuck would get it back. Beating Rashad and then Forest might have been his only best chance.

He still has a legacy that speaks for itself. Why take the chance to detract from it further?

This would be a great fight, but I'd have to give this to Chuck, I can see Chuck knocking Rich out.

I'm not intrested in this fight chuck is a counter puncher and Rich has the heart of a lion and will come forward...I'd rather see Rich fight Shogun or Wandy....

...Yeah right!...Everyone said Liddell was done when Rampage KO'd him. Chuck came back and showed a more well-rounded fight against Wanderlie shutting up all the critics. Wanderlie just came off that 36 second destruction of Jardine. Chuck has all the tools to get that belt back. He just has to constantly mix it up like the great fighter he is. It's quite obvious that to be successful today in MMA, you have to be well-rounded. To pick Rich Franklin over Liddell is nuts. I'm a fan of Franklin but he won't be able to "Swim with the sharks" as he put it in the LHW Division long at all. Too many dangerous fighters at 205 that can beat Rich Franklin. Anderson Silva has Franklin's number and his Belt. Lyoto Machida KO'd Franklin. Like I said, Rich trapped himself by going back up to 205. Soon he will have to face the big dogs of the Light Heavyweight Division. GOOD LUCK!!!

Problem is the competition has gotten fierce since the beginning and middle phase of MMA and UFC in general. Rashad obviously had a great game plan coming in and training partner in Jardine who previously beat Chuck as well. Plus there are tons of fight footage of Chuck. Suppose it goes both ways. Ultimately I think the game has evolved so whoever has more of a complete package will do better a la Anderson Silva, BJ Penn and GSP. It's truly the rise of MMA now. Houston Alexander made a great observation in that anything can happen nowadays; BJJ experts knocking people out (Thiago Silva) and strikers submitting people (Anderson Silva.) Gotta love MMA!

I remember someone saying a year ago that there is no way that anderson silva would have a chance against a fighter like chuck liddell or tito ortiz but yeah i pick Rich to win this fight
