Like they said, Mir brings a gun into the octagon. But even then it's iffy if he can finish Nog in 60 seconds, gun and all.

I know this is going to sound crazy but hear me out. I actually think Franks best strategy is to specifically focus on the flying arm bar and flying scissor heel hook. The reason because that those two moves can't be seen coming and aren't moves you prepare for.
Frank is outclassed in every aspect of the game, so his best bet is to surprise Nogeuira with something that can but probably won't work.
Nog by 2nd rd. Sub, but still thats Frank Mir's best bet.

The ONLY and I literally mean ONLY way I can see Mir win is by giving Nog a headkick like Herring did and then get him in a submission while he's dazed. Herring could've won that fight if he had Mir's submission game or wanted to at least attempt a submission.

Boring! I have to say the whole "Bring a Gun" thing has been done to death! Don't you guys have another expression that will say Frank Mir doesn't stand a chance in hell?

But he does have a habit of finishing his fights within 60 to 90 seconds. But you could argue that Tank Abbott is a can and Brock Lesnar was 1-0 in his MMA career and is prone to making some rookie mistakes. Tim Sylvia is a good fighter but he isn't exactly known for his ground game like Big Nog.
But lately it has been upset city in MMA! What if the impossible happens! If it were to happen how would you predict Frank would do it?
IMO, the only way Frank could end it early is if he pulled a Sokky on Big Nog! I just don't see him submitting a submission master! But then again stranger shit has happened!

You realize that you just compared Nogueira, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, to Tank Abbott and Brock Lesnar.
There's no way in hell that Frank will finish Nogueira in the first round, much less in a minute.
If Frank were to catch Nog, at any time, it will be if he gets on top, catches him with a serious bomb, and then throws on a leg lock (probably a heel hook).
He won't finish Nog with strikes, ever. He won't finish Nog without hurting him. The only way he'll do that is by getting on top, taking a leaf out of Fedor's book, and then slapping on the leg lock.
That said, does Frank have the ability to land that kind of bomb from Nog's guard? I don't think so.
Still, you posed an outlandish hypothetical, and that's the only reasonable scenario.

I agree here. IMO if Frank wins this fight it will be by kneebar (Nog seems suspicable to them) or other leg lock very early in the fight. If that doesn't work, Mir will gass and Nog can continue to punch him in the face many times.

+1 to this
Mir isn't huge but it's obvious he could get leaner and maybe work on some stand up... even his KO win looked horrible. he just throws his pudgy body into it
