Disagree entirely. I find I keep having to argue this out, but Palhares is better then Filho at TD's and is essentially a better Filho with worse cardio and horrendous striking.

The only problem with his TD's are that they are too predictable, but otherwise they are fantastic (getting Dan down atall is an accomplishment).

And he reportedly subs Nog and Filho himself frequently, so I guess that shows how good his BJJ is.

PS. He would still beat Silva

His takedowns aren't as good as Filho not even close.

His ground game is good but Filho is better. Palhares is a worse version of Filho he has worse takedowns and worse BJJ. Not saying they are bad but they aren't as good as Filho's.

I've been wrestling for years, and I know basically everything there is to know about the takedowns wrestling wise (and a little bit about judo). From what I've seen of the two, Filho definitely has better wrestling, he just isn't as good at setting up his TD's.

As for BJJ, I've only started training a week and a half ago so I only know so much about the specifics. However judging by the report that Palhares frequently subs Filho you have to assume he's better then him. Because of that I have to say Palhares is better then Filho at BJJ and an overall better MMA fighter.

I shouldn't have said that Palhares is a monster with takedowns, they are fine. His shots were terrible though, he wasn't setting them up and trying from way too far out.

We saw what he did to Hendo when he actually did get him though.

Palhares subbing Filho once in awhile doesn't make him better on the ground then Filho.

Paulo is a monster the guy is perhaps the hardest guy to deal with when he gets on top of you in MMA. Because he just doesn't go anywhere.
Palhares has nasty leg locks but his BJJ game isn't at Filho's level.
