Has the Serra vs Hughes fight lost its appeal?
Its been somtime now since Hughes was destroyed by Alvez and i know he sustained an injury, however is this fight likey to ever happen now? I havent seen any news regards this matchup for somewhile and Serras camp has also been quiet of late.
Has the time now passed regards the fights appeal?
Do you really care if it happens?
The "hatred" hype has long since died and i personally couldnt care less if these two fight each other again, lets face it there is gonna be heck of a wait even if Hughes gets fully fit etc as there a quite a few events and fan wanted draws before these two could possibly headline, i cant see Hughes being willing to step this fight down to a "fight night" event it will have to be a Main Eventer.
So what do you guys say?

It had appeal before?
I was only interested in seeing Serra get trashed for 3 rounds.

Yeah I dont really care about seeing it now either. It wouldve been interesting if they had the fight a month or two after the end of TUF6, but not now.Besides, hughes is washed up.I think he should call it quits.Losing to GSP is one thing, but losing again to alves is another. Not saying alves isnt good but when hughes was at his prime he couldve beat alves.I think hughes just has lost all motivation.

I'd still like to see it actually. I honestly think Serra can win the fight. Much better stand up and when it comes to submissions he is better also. The only thing Hughes has on Serra is strength and wrestling. The only way he can win is by laying on him the whole time unless he can get the full mount and pound away. I think Serra would win. I just don't think Hughes is the force he use to be.

What the hell are you smoking? Hughes has actually subbed top level fighters unlike Serra.

Sure Hughes has ended some fights with submission, but that is Serra's specialty. Not saying Hughes is a slouch in the department I just think Serra is better. Hughes just has so much more experience than Serra and of course has pulled of more submissions than him, doesn't mean he is better. So if you put these to in a pure bjj match, you would pick Hughes over Serra

I'm not denying Serra has great defensive BJJ, but offensively he is shit. Hughes's wrestling will get him on top and Serra has absolutely no chance of subbing him from the bottom.

I'm not going to disagree with ya, I don't really see Serra subbing Hughes, but I do see him getting a TKO. If Hughes gets Serra down I can see him pounding on Serra or even getting a armbar, but I just think Serra will pull off the win. I just hope he has been practicing that takedown defense, if so its his win. In the end I will not be surprised to see either win
