I would argue that Anderson Silva or GSP wouldn't be as dominant in such an outrageously stacked division as LHW.

The WW division is just as STACKED.

The MW division isn't as stacked but there are definitely some great fighters (Franklin, Hendo, Nate).

This is what i'm saying though. This is who you think is the best fighter. RANKING wise, Forrest HAS to be number 1. No way is Machida ranked number 1. You shouldn't be picking people because they've beaten two good fighters, i'm asking who you think is the best based on how good a fighter they are, not on who they have beat.

I realise Forrest is ranked number 1, you have to be after beating Shogun and Rampage in a row. Doesn't mean I think he's the 2nd best fighter in the division. There are still a fair amount of people I'd pick against him.

I knew posts like that would be coming, and I do wonder if you actually bothered to read my post. THIS ISN'T A RANKING. Rankings wouldn't have Machida top, I KNOW!!!

Machida not beating a top 5 opponent has NO RELEVANCE AT ALL in me thinking he is the best LHW in the UFC.

There is a difference (sometimes) between the guy Ranked Number 1 and who is actually the best.

For example, people were starting to rank Nogueira over Fedor because of Fedor's inactivity and lack of fighting good opponents. Did this mean that Nogueira was better than Fedor? No way in hell.

Fedor fights I want to see..

Fedor vs. Josh Barnett
Fedor vs. Randy Couture
Fedor vs. Tim Sylvia - DEMOLISHED
Fedor vs. Andrei Arlovski - DEMOLISHED

hmmmmm, i wonder how many become reality..

I don't think Machida is #1 either, but I would pick Forrest right now. That guy has an amazing pain threshold that you can't train.

Keep in mind that Rich Franklin wasn't included and he could really make a charge at the title. Imagine a Franklin vs Griffin fight? That would be awesome!

On a side note, I'd like to see Thiago Silva improve a bit and make a run at the title.

LHW is easily the most confusing division at the moment, but I went with Forrest. He's seemed pretty solid except for that one unfortunate techno viking KO incident, and I guess he's still improving too.

I'm not disrespecting either division. There are some tough guys in both.

However the LHW division is an almost impossible division to dominate. There are SO MANY guys that could feasibly hold the belt in that division.

I think the WW division has a handful of great guys and MW has only a couple.

I think just about anyone on the OP's list could hold the belt at one time or another depending on how often they fought...

But none of them will be able to beat Machida.

Ugh, Machida is not the #1 LHW. He has great striking, but it really isn't dangerous, he has a decent ground game but again its nothing mind blowing.
