He seems quite good and well rounded but Velasquez is a beast. A great strong wrestler with improved stand up.

I've seen his last couple of fights in CR and I think the guy is a beast. He does seem to lack any sort of submission skills but he's a mean brawler who avoids subs pretty well. I think the HW division will definitely benefit from his presence. He's built like a tank, has a head like a snowplow, and a name like a Crusades-era warlord. Hopefully he spends all his time between then and now working his sub and takedown defense though. It's becoming a nasty world for pure strikers in the HW division again with Nog, Mir, Brock, Randy, Velasquez etc.

Cain Velasquez vs. Mustafa Al-Turk at UFC Fight for the Troops

Al-Turk doesn't have a chance.

I'm glad al-Turk vs. Velasquez is happening, because Cain is on my Staff Fantasy Fight Team.

Honestly, these aren't going to be hard points to get. It could be alot harder.

Velasquez will destroy him honestly it doesn't matter who he was fighting he was probably going to destroy them but Al-Turk isn't as good of a techinical striker IMO as Cain and their grappling levels aren't even close.

The only fight of Al-Turk's I've seen was with McSweeney. I remember his ground-and-pound looking pretty nasty. Tough-looking dude. Seriously badass sounding name. Should be a nice pickup for the HW division.

The operative words being should be.

I can't see Mustapha putting Cain in any serious trouble. Not a great first fight if they're looking to really build the guy up. He's being thrown to the wolves by facing an up-and-comer like Velasquez right off the bat.
