Maybe the judges are getting the ruling right every time within the system, but the system is simply flawed.
I've been trying to find a really concise list of the criteria. I've found very general stuff but I'm looking for something more like "a knee is worth X, a punch is worth X, a headkick is worth X, add X if it is a particularly strong strike, a nearly successful sub attemtp is worth X", etc.

I'm not sure any such precise criteria exists though, which, if true, is likely part of the problem. Each judge has his own opinion about how much a given action should be worth. One judge might not consider a sub attempt to be worth anything at all if it doesn't result in a tapout.

Everybody good, plenty of slaves for my robot colony?

Thumbs up

WOW, not bad at all--- I have just learned quit a bit and my thoughts even though the same have matured.

I wonder if something can be done, something a bit more methodical--- like a Compubox--- that actually counts each strike’s, takedowns, submission attempt and so on and so forth then score based on that. I do not know it’s just a thought, I doubt they will change anything. Sometime things happen so fast its hard IMPO to account for everything--- its that some of these decisions have really been pretty crappy as all you know.

I understand that allowing it to go to the judges is not the way to go; maybe they do that to teach them to try harder, LOL--- anyhow--- must not be very easy because if it was everyone would be doing it---

Thanks for y'alls thoughts,
O

honestly, I think the UFC is starting to get too big and things are starting to get suspicious. While I understand Dana's primary goal is to make money for the company, certain fights and the outcomes don't add up. Are we heading down the road of boxing? Let's hope not.

Examples? (Besides the obvious Bisping/Hamill)

2 judges scored the Hughes vs Charuto fight 30-27 for Matt Hughes. In the first round, Charuto almost subbed Hughes with a triangle. The judges still gave Hughes that round. I shook my head when the scores were announced.

Judo Gene was a great judge. Then again, it is Judo Gene.

I wish Yves Lavinge could be a judge AND a referee. That dude rules all kinds of awesome.
