Schafer gets slaughtered by anyone with even a half decent stand-up game.

What have you done with Aaronyman? Or are you just pulling some Rob Emerson type BS with Schafer?

houston beat jardine...who beat liddell..arguably the best striker @ 205

houston was arguably undefeated...his only "loses" were via early stoppages

schafer has been in there w/ some of the best...and he survived and made them tap

Finally.. a poster who knows his stuff.

Houston is the real deal, just gets caught early, hit hard with the "bad luck train".

ok that's some questionable mma math, houston lost because he has pretty one-dimensional game and so does schafer for that matter. neither of them is anywhere near a title fight imho.

yep, if they can stop his takedowns and defend subs he won't have a chance.

yet he had a tight guillotine on thiago silva...a bjj blackbelt...and from interviews i've read, thiago admitted he almost tapped, even tho he was in side control...cuz houston's guillotine was that powerful....he's got good jitz skills...but good ain't good enough when your fighting schafer....you better be marcelo garcia or ronaldo jacare or else your getting sub'd

I don't understand what you're saying? Rob Emmerson would own LHW obviously so what does that have to do with anything?

A strong guillotine doesn't prove much at all about someone's bjj imho.

His jitz is good maybe relative to a fighter in a small local show or your average guy, but relative to other LHW's it's pretty weak.

Or stephan bonner or mike bisping. you know who schafer has beaten that is even UFC calibre? houston alexander and rob macdonald. And rob macdonald is only important because he was on the TUF show, his best win is kristian rothaermel who sucks bad. i'm not saying his jitz isn't top-flight, it is, but he's not very strong in other important areas and that will hold him back until he spends the time to improve them.
