Jason MacDonald inks four-fight contract; predicts Bisping match-up

Quote:
I signed a new contract with the UFC this week. Itís a new four-fight deal, so Iíll be looking forward to four more fights in the UFC and hopefully climbing my way to the top of the division. On the next few cards there are quite a few middleweight matchups, So it will be interesting to see who they match me up with next. My gut feeling is Iím going to fight Michael Bisping, win or lose in his upcoming bout. I have no particular reason for that. Nobody has said anything to lead me to believe that. I just see that happening. But then again Alessio Sakara just had a good knockout so maybe theyíll think that is a good matchup, another striker vs. grappler matchup.
-UFC middleweight Jason ďThe AthleteĒ MacDonald (21-10) comments via his official blog about his new contract extension with the UFC. MacDonald is fresh off an exciting submission victory over Jason Lambert at UFC 88 but has his work cut out for him if he hopes to work his way back into title contention in a very crowded - and talented - middleweight division.

I like J-Mac and am glad to know I'll be seeing more of his fights. I would love to see him and Bisping.

Jason is a fighter. The guy isn't going to be a champion but he is tough to beat and gives everyone but Franklin a tough fight.

Looks like his performance against Maia went a long way towards getting a new deal.

That, or UFC management expected Lambert to be a beast at MW.

My milkshake brings all the girls to the barn.

MOO!

I think it had everything to do with the Maia bout and a win just weeks later over Lambert sealed the deal.

In my mind I think the UFC just likes macdonald, the guy takes all fights they give him without questions asked it seems, I think it has nothing to do with maia or lambert fight, it's just he always show up to fight and never say no and the UFC digs it.

He gave Maia an amazingly tough fight on the ground that's not something almost anyone in the UFC MW divison can do.

He also beat Doerkson, and Lambert who are both solid guys.

I think he is a decent fighter, but I don't see him beating any of the top guys at MW, Silva, Franklin, Hendo, Marquardt, Okami and of course Bisping would all beat him relatively easily IMO.
