I'm real excited for this fight, but I am surprised of how people are taking this announcement.

Any other fight where a fighter has like 2 fights to one guy and gets a third shot, even though he is 0-2, most people bitch about it and don't want it to happen.

"When I hear athletes call themselves warriors, it does bother me a little bit. When I think of a warrior, I think of the Marines I've led in combat, those Marines that sacrificed so much...no showers, little food, no contact with their family, all for their love for their brother Marine and for their love for their country. That's a warrior, willing to lay his life on the line. I've had Marines that have laid their lives on the line for the man next to him, and for their family and country. That's a warrior. The guy who goes into some athletic contest who has no war experience, in my eyes, really has no right to call himself that. That's a coveted thing to call someone, and that's what I call my Marines. Those are warriors." - Brian Stann

Especially since post fight Forrest said there would be a rematch. No one ever gets a rematch in the first title defense The UFC probably wouldn't schedule that if Forrest tried demanding it...
No one except Andrei Arlovski following his first defeat to Tim Sylvia.. then again, the HW division was sparse for contenders at the time.

I think this is an exception because both fights were extremely competitive. I mean, Rampage hurt Wanderlei in both fights, but Wanderlei fought back. This is a new setting to, and Rampage has come a long way since those losses.

If their second fight happened a year ago, then there wouldn't be as much interest, but it's been so long since they last fought that the allure of seeing it again is high.

That's my explanation at least lol.
