The same can be said for Silva. Hendo has a granite chin as well, and we all know how that played out. If Cote pushes the pace early, he definitely has a break to whip out his right hand fast enough to stagger Silva, but it's highly doubtful. All questions regarding Anderson's chin were universally answered after eating two massive overhand rights from Hendo and simply taking a step back.

Either way though, this fight ends dramatically.

This fight could be GSP vs Serra 1 all over again. Its a decent match up and it will be exciting and I as a fan want to see exciting fights.

Im rooting for Cote on this one just to shake the MW division up a bit.

i look at cote as a younger faster hendo, but without the world class wrestling. i expect silva to win, but at the same wouldnt be surprised if he lost. cote isa gamer and not alot of people are giving him his due. plus its been upset city lately so......

maia looks good but is still a work in progress with his striking. he is improving fast though and the fight with quarry should give us a good sense of where hes at. still after quarry id like to see maia take on someone like a nate marquart.

personally id like to see hendo vs silva at 205.

It's was, the UFC isn't plural.

I agree, I would rather see him fight almost anyone(excluding Franklin) but whatever. I don't really feel that anyone stands more of a chance than Cote so until they show me someone that could it doesn't really matter who they throw at Silva, they are gonna lose.

Cote is getting a shot because he is the most diserving at this time. He has more of a chance than Dan Henderson. Dan and Cote both have great chins, both have lots of punching power. The difference is Cote has better hands that Dan will ever had. Cote has a chance in this fight. He can take a punch but can Anderson take his if he connects. I know that Cote has a slim chance. But how can any MMA fan say that he has no chance. Remember that this is a fight and anything can happen. Maybe Silva slips and falls on Cotes foot. Cote wins by KO. Anything can happen. I think Cote has more of a chance that Franklin ever did. He has as much or more power than Franklin. His hands are almost as good as Franklins and his chin is twice that of Franklins. I would say he has a 30% chance of winning this fight....

I'm glad they gave Cote the fight. Just like I'm glad they gave Fitch the title shot.

Neither one of those guys are a huge draw but they are/were the most deserving. The UFC gave them fights...and they won those fights. What more can you ask?

As much as I'm excited to see Lesnar/Couture, I'm pissed that Brock's third fight is a title shot. He doesn't deserve it (as least not yet).

It's like giving the Yankees a spot in the World Series after only winning 30 games. It makes sense money-wise but it's not fair.

Cote vs Silva is proof that the UFC and Joe Silva still believe in fairness and hard work. I hope Cote goes out there and gives it everything he has....just like Fitch did.
