UFC needs a tournament

The ONLY thing that stands out past the UFC is the tournys.

How else can you prove whos really the best???

What do you think about the UFC holding a tournament in each division? Especially heavyweight (Would be fun to see) Back in the early days of 3 fights in one night was incredible, especially when the poor guys are running on fumes come the finals lol

But seriously even if it was held over several months, A TOURNAMENT would really show who the best is, and stop a lot of these arguements as to WHO THE BEST LHW, MW etc...

Who do you think would win in each division?

If there was a tourniment I would like to see the LHW with the HW just because there is no talent in the HW devision.

I know everybody is going to say that they are too big. Who cares in pride the lighter guys do it.

I agree

Back in the days of the first few UFCS, size didnt matter at all. They even had that DAVID VS GOLIATH show, where everyone who was smaller won the fight over the bigger guy. (I think the "Polar Bear" Paul Varlans was the one big guy who made it through further. (where is he I liked him lol)

Anyway I dont think Size matters THAT much, it didnt back then, so why should it now>?

i think they should do tournaments, but they shouldnt do one nighters. they should follow suite from pride and stretch it through out the year. i think it is the best way to determine who is the best and the best way to determine the way the fighters are ranked.

Just wondering because you all say tourniments show who really is the best. Do you think Mirko Cro Cop is better then Fedor? If not then the tourniment doesn't prove who's the best.

I still like the idea, but id like to see it without the Champions in each weight class, then the winner of each weight class gets a title shot, i think that'd be sweet.

What is it that is going to be on your mind when you're on your death bed? Will it be the tedious years of 9 to 5, or the memory of some great acheivement. Maybe a moment you stood in glory to the applause of millions.

Spitfire good suggestion

I think thats an even better idea! Ya everyone EXCEPT the champions in the tournaments. and the winners fight the champs, good idea

As for CroCop and Fedor, Im one of the guys who say Fedor aint what hes made out to be cause hes fought a lot of cans.

YES hes GREAT, but I think another shot at CroCop he might not be so lucky..

Personally, I think he's beatable

Dont yell at me its just my own opinion lol, but I can think of a few guys who might take away Fedors belt, and their not Walk throughs like a lot of his past opponents

I don't think the Nevada State Athletic Commission would allow them to do tourneys. Otherwise I think its a great idea.

Who are the guys that can take away Fedor's belt?
And btw, what did you think of Belfort's recent fight against Hendo?

Fedor was injured. So I am not sure what you are getting at. He won the last tourniment he was healthy for.

The fact that they do fight multiple fights in one night does prove something. If you look at UFC 3 when Kemo took Royce into a long fight he was not able to fight in the finals. It adds excitment, and a wild card. I am not saying they should fight 4 fights in a night to win that be a bit much but a couple makes for an intersting night. Some devisions like the LHW have become stale to me and I would like to see a differant format. The pride tournements lets people fight up in weight and you get to see some more exciting matches.
