Penn is a bit of a stretch, but certainly a very good striker.

Yup exactly .

Diaz isnt good , great or bad at striking , he is an average striker with long reach solid accurate techincal punches, thats it , hes mainly a JJ guy

He is 23. I think him, Riggs, and DeWees wil all be good fighters because of how far along they are right now but they should not be in the UFC yet. Karo was successful earlier because people had no counter to his judo. Look at what Nastula did to Barnett. Barnett pulled out a lucky sub after being dominated. Judo is a hard style to fight against, especially if there isn't any video of your competition.

To say he is done is a stretch, done in the UFC maybe, but certainly not done.

Sherk for sure. He is the better wrestler and has some good GnP + slams. ANd sherk is more powerful and experienced

wrestling/takedowns: sherk, huge advantage

striking: guillard, big advantage better striker and longer reach

conditioning: sherk, extreme cardio program but now that melvins with team punishment his has most likely gotten better but still not better than sherk

experience: sherk big advantage here as well fought the best ww and alot of fights but melvin had a decent amount to

sherk i think would win he would negate melvin's striking advantage with his wrestling takedowns and then once sherk has him down he would submit or gnp melvin but melvin could win if he keeps it standing enough but i doubt sherk would let that happen the only way for melvin to win is to keep it standing and outstrike sherk which could very well be done the outstriking part not the keep it standing

Yeah I don't see Guillard taking this one either. He's quick and athletic but Sherk's a beast and I don't think Guillard could come close to stopping his shots. Guillard does have better striking and knock out power but I'm sure Sherk won't let him showcase it. I'd say 2nd round TKO (strikes).
